Posted by P-Angelsweet ! have a Happy!
... was my husband's 60th birthday.
No party, nothing special .... he's a very private man, and doesn't like to share things with people, he doesn't like company and would have killed me if I threw him a party.
So, we ordered pizza and had chocolate pie I made for him.
Well, last year, as you all remember, we went to Monticello. Mainly, I wanted to visit Mulberry Row, which is very rich in the history of slavery. Visiting there, and sensing the aura of the energies still attached to the biggest industrial hub, run and operated by strickly negros of that time period ... was one of the most amazing places I have ever visited, and I ghost hunt a lot.
The place was just swirling with chemistry in the air, still looking for hope, for reasons, for belonging
Nothing can beat that, right?
Well, his vacation starts tomorrow and he wants to go visit some towns near a lake and see what quality homes you can get for the price.
And let me tell you, something like this is very intriguing for a Virgo. He has been looking at maps, searching realtor.com, studying city-data to find out basically everything you want to know about a town/city.
I think he's more fun making spreadsheets and analyzing his data then he'll ever have on our road trip we start in the morrow.
I don't know what we'll find. But, I like the idea that we are just winging it, at a lake .... very spontaneous. No reservations, no plans, other than checking out the important stuff in the towns that surround the lake - restaruants, parks, schools, hospital, tackle shops
We sold our house in Florida a while back, and still have to invest to avoid capital gain. A lake somewhere in the Carolina's sounds exciting,
I can't believe he's 60. He was 26 when we got married.
He's such a nice man. Calm, sensible, and yes .... a Virgo is running off on an adventure without packing a bag, nor knowing where he's ending up.
Happy Birthday to a great husband, who is my perfect match. 😄

Posted by P-AngelWell that DOES sound familliar 😄. I can get on board with plans and schedule it to the second but I enjoy winging it too. Can go either way.

Posted by xXxAliciaXxXI got called one in the most racially harmonious place: San Francisco. It is eye opening and kinda cray that ppl still judge. I have friends from every walk of life and NEVER judge others. Thank u and Brandi for saying what I was thinking!
@brandyp
Same!
It's been a long ass time since any white person has had the balls to say anything racist to my face.
I have been called a n***er a few times though, but it was when I was a kid or the white people were yelling from the safety of their vehicle.
I once even got chased down by a truck full of white men and they actually had a shotgun pointed at me. Sounds like some shit that would happen in the 30's or 40's somewhere down south, but this was actually in 2005-2006 when I was living in Chicago. Just walking down the street minding my own business and they decided to try to murder me for being a woman of color.
They will never understand and unfortunately many of the people on here do not care to understand.

They will never fully understand what black people as a whole have had to go through and still have to go through even today.
So they sit on their high horses and downplay the things that they say with ease because they've never felt the manifestation of these words in their lives. The privileged are always blind to what's going on around them.
They write off what they don't understand.
But I agree bc at the end if the day there r some cool ones, but the majority of them are just fucking infuriating w the shit they say.
Remember that black hair thread I made. Kiss my grits is now insinuating black ppl don't read unless its beauty mags bc I made that thread. JFC.
All they're doing is exposing their true nature though.
I may laugh and joke with a lot of these people here, but I pay attention and take mental note of shit like this.
Lets separate "white" from "devil" though. As you said, not all whites are ignorant covert racists. I have plenty of white friends that I know are enlightened and far from racist.
This is DXP. The cesspool of the internet. You're gonna run into a lot of racist/shitty people on here. Gotta remember that most of them aren't like how they are on DXP. That goes for all people in general.click to expand

Posted by xXxAliciaXxXI clearly must have. Especially if you guys are having this very conversation on racism...something that definitely /wasn't/ happening when I first started coming here in early 2015 or when I made a board about it a few months ago.Posted by themagnetorebornYou went about it all wrong. That's why.
How the hell do I get branded as an outspoken crazy person when I expose the racist people here on DXP...and months later, I see this convo about certain people not liking racist people...on DXP...?
I'm taken aback by this discovery.
I definitely don't support the way you went about confronting the issue. You became part of the problem and you accomplished nothing.click to expand

Fuck white ppl, 90% of them are like this.

Posted by xXxAliciaXxXBritney has always triggered herself over something Her reaction is her problem alone. She's always shown she is bitter and not willing to be peaceful. Yes I'm no longer trying with someone who doesn't want to try.
@kissmygrits
No one is asking you to prove yourself, but when you respond sarcastically and try to downplay the use of a word that was once used to degrade an entire race of people, that's when it becomes an issue.
Yes I said "lame ass insult" because it was. It was a cheap shot that required little to no thought. You can't instigate and then turn around and say "no, but I care though". If you're really against it, then you wouldn't be writing it off like it's not that big of a deal or coming at the people who are expressing their (very valid) concerns about the subject at hand.
Your actions contradict what you're saying. If you were a kid and someone cruel used to beat on you and belittle you as a child and referred to you as an "ape" (this is just an example), I would never ever call you an "ape". Even as a joke or for the sake of telling a story. I wouldn't want to trigger any negative feelings or hurt from your past because of what your abuser did to you.
It's just common sense. I could easily explain whatever I need to explain without needing to refer to you as an ape. It was unnecessary for P to say negro, but I'm more than certain that miserable old bitch is deeply prejudice.
You're stirring the pot with your responses to Brandy and the more you instigate, the more you make it look like you're just as ignorant as she is.

Posted by xXxAliciaXxXThis right here is /exactly/ why I went off on the people I called racist or misinformed.Posted by themagnetorebornYou went about it all wrong.Posted by xXxAliciaXxXI clearly must have. But I'll let you guys carry on.
Instead of creating a thread to single out multiple individuals and call them all types of names, you should have just confronted the issue from an intellectual perspective.
It didn't have to be all of that. You just kept calling people racists, but couldn't really say why they we're or didn't even say what happened that made you feel that way.

You must not have read the posts I made before that where I gave /both/ context and explanations as to why certain individuals were racists - individuals I encountered on a different board and confronted.
All I saw was misplaced anger and a lot of name calling from both sides.click to expand

"I never called you a bitch.
I don't think you're a bitch, but the way you came at Brandy wasn't cool either.
Whatever. Clearly you two have some sort of history/rivalry that I'm unaware of.
All I'm saying is, think before you speak. That goes for me too. "
No she did. Which is whatever. I don't think she never liked me anyway. Boohoo. LOL And I heart you. And yes l'll be more thoughtful from now on. Pinky swear.
