I know better than to believe the whole Aquas are cold schtick. But it suprises me that an Aqua would call themselves this unless they have some significant water in their charts. Am I incorrect in this thinking?

Lol she's no narc but she has a healthy ego but I like that.
I suppose I should give a bit of context. So this whole confession came up cause about 2 weeks ago I texted her twice but never got a response back. Normally not an issue, I'd just wait a day or so and bug her again. However I'm currently dealing with some heavy stuff so it bothered me and then I got sick. When I finally texted her she had just noticed the previous texts and freaked out about how long it's been since we talked (it's unusual for us). She said she was stressed and apologized multiple times.
We met up the next night and she apologized again and said normally she's very conscious of others feelings but she was stressed from whats going on in her life plus other peoples stuff. And that she absorbs the negative energy etc. So I asked if she was an empath and she replied yes. So technically I asked about it specifically...I was just shocked cause I've never heard anyone call themselves or describe themselves that way in person.

I'm more intuitive than anything; clairaudient and clairsentient those I relate too. I used to have precognitive dreams too, so did my mom. It's been some times since that has happened, which I am glad for, it would freak me out.

I've had this happen and my mother and grandmother too, like neighbor's who passed away and the deceased go to to my family members and show themselves to them,
and then my mother or grandmother has told the neighbors, "I had a talk and a dream about your deceased husband"
so of course, the neighbors in this case wonder WHY the husband or wife who passed away does NOT go to their wife/husband
because it's NOT that easy. not everyone can be a vehicle or have the spiritual channel.click to expand
I relate to the water one too. That's really wild about you and your sister! Do you also find yourself physically sensitive, maybe in terms of sensing changes in weather or the environment?
My family has a weird intuitive, maybe psychic sense as well. Lots of weird stories, many witnessed so it's not just an exaggeration. I guess I inherited it. Not sure how this could be a chart related thing since there's many people involved.

Does not equate to it not being an actual thing. However I'm under the impression that an empath can sense energy or emotions but not necessarily know the exact feeling. That seems more like a psychic thing?

I’m definitely an empath.
I’ve got Aquarius in my Sun (6th) and Venus (5th), Leo Moon in the 11th, Pisces Mercury in the 6th, Aries Mars in the 7th and Virgo Ascendant. Oh and I feel as if my Ceres in the 1st makes me appear quite mothering and nurturing towards others.

it was more or less, opening of the "veil" lol i know that sounds hokey and ridiculously harry potterish. LOL
but i dont know any other way to describe it.
i have the ability to open the veil to the other side.
oh and it's PURE scary as shit. i dont oftne want to do it, because it is incredibly frightening!!!. i even get scared at some moments in the past.
i have to call out guardians to PROTECT me if it gets TOO intense or i get sucked in. it is just no other feeling in the world.

No I don't mind but I won't go into great detail, otherwise I'll be writing a book.
Things like my cousins seeing the spirit of a recently deceased loved one. She apparently talked to them. My grandma predicting certain events, same with my mother. My great grandma predicted her death. Though you could argue she was just really in tune with her body. Anyway she told her family to come by a day before cause she was going to die. And she did, gathered people around her bed, shared some words and died. As for myself one that sticks out is when I was little my mother parked at a store near a light post. For whatever reason I had a bad feeling so I asked her to re-park. She went into the store, I stayed in the car. About maybe 20 mins later this truck backups right in that parking spot and hits the light post. Crazy weird.
I don't have any experience with that but I wouldn't dismiss it either. It's kind of complicated. I believe in logic, reason, and science but I'm also spiritual. I believe in malevolent and benevolent spirits. But I'm also sceptical. However I've seen, heard and experienced enough weird stuff to know there are things in this world we can't explain and don't fall into the realm of science, at least for now.
And honestly we're on an astrology forum if someone looks at your post and thinks it's silly...they need a reality check lol

No I don't mind but I won't go into great detail, otherwise I'll be writing a book.
Things like my cousins seeing the spirit of a recently deceased loved one. She apparently talked to them. My grandma predicting certain events, same with my mother. My great grandma predicted her death. Though you could argue she was just really in tune with her body. Anyway she told her family to come by a day before cause she was going to die. And she did, gathered people around her bed, shared some words and died. As for myself one that sticks out is when I was little my mother parked at a store near a light post. For whatever reason I had a bad feeling so I asked her to re-park. She went into the store, I stayed in the car. About maybe 20 mins later this truck backups right in that parking spot and hits the light post. Crazy weird.
I don't have any experience with that but I wouldn't dismiss it either. It's kind of complicated. I believe in logic, reason, and science but I'm also spiritual. I believe in malevolent and benevolent spirits. But I'm also sceptical. However I've seen, heard and experienced enough weird stuff to know there are things in this world we can't explain and don't fall into the realm of science, at least for now.

I definitely think it’s really good to be compassionate or empathetic. I think it’s so important. Although I wish I can feel everything more, so Im not really an empath unfortunately. Typically I can put myself in others shoes, some things come easier than others though but if I put my effort into it I can. I imagine. Is it something I feel in myself? No not really, I can distinguish my feelings from others. Actually there are times, more specifically times of nervousness I can sense nervousness around me and makes me nervous. Also people getting angry around me is overwhelming but I don’t actually get angry myself so In not absorbing their emotions. I think I am quite able to tell if someone is sad, botherd, etc the thing is I am not always observant of my surroundings and I am also able to separate my feelings from others. But even if people around me being nervous makes me nervous I don’t think that being an empath. I think that’s a normal emotional reaction.
I don’t know if what your friend describes is the same as being an empath though. I think people get stressed in situations from others around them it’s the norm I think.

Not sure on moons but I've heard Aqua suns say they worry they don't feel emotions like "normal" people. So it's not just you. Ah but you're a Pisces sun, imo that's a strong placement. And that's why it's good to keep in mind generalizations.
And I'm sorry it's hurtful. But no need to worry or doubt. I'm sure your emotions are fine, healthy, and likely deep. But people are different and they react differently. That's ok. Some people when they have strong feelings like to pour them out in that instant, completely unfiltered. Maybe they surround themselves with others and openly emote. Some people may internalize and do activities like working out, painting, going for a walk until they are calm again. And some people may take a more logical approach and try to figure out how to solve their problems, relying on mental strength. I think the last one can be similar to how some Aquas deal with emotions. However just because they take this approach doesn't mean they don't feel just as strongly as a person who will express intense feelings outwardly.
Try to ease your doubts. You're are your own individual. You may not be normal but who wants to be that, normal people rarely do anything extraordinary. You are different but you're also human. Just be confident in that, and yourself, and you'll be fine!

i think in your case, its hard because you are sheltered more. You dont really have many options to meet men who will "test" to see your emotional availability.
