Do you test people you like?

I've been reading about other signs testing people before they start a relationship and I was curious of any aqua does this?

To be honest, I'm not sure if I do and if I do I don't think I'm fully aware of it.

Not sure, but I am certain to take note of any red flags I see. I usually pay attention to the little things they may or may not have done and reflect about it. I usually see it as a point or tally system. When I see something good, +50pts or a tally in the good. If I see something that bothers me -50pts or a tally in the bad. If they rectify something bad, they get marks in the good. So on and so forth. One could say that I'm testing them but its not like I have some predetermined checklist or something. I don't make up situations or say things on purpose to force reactions.

I do the same thing, but not with points. More of a list, of the likes and dislikes. Do you count every little thing? I notice I do from looking through my purse, or not helping me scrape the ice off my window in the dead of winter.

One day and Aries went to step up on my bed (its low) to reach the ceiling fan tassel. I bent down at the same exact moment to pick something up and he ended up kneeing me in the face. Instead of being shocked and worried, he laughed. He laughed like it was the most funniest thing in the world as I held my face/nose/teeth and yelled out in pain. I punched him in the shoulder saying "How the hell is this FUNNY!? It fucking HURTS!" and he ..tried to correct himself by saying "*snicker*Are you..*snicker snicker* OK hun?" and then started laughing even harder. He said since he saw no blood he knew I was good so he didn't feel the need to worry/care.

Scorp and I, we were play-wrestling and he tripped me with the intent to catch me. He didn't do so well and my head whip-lashed a bit onto the floor. He immediately was freaked out and said "OMFG are you OK? Does it hurt? Where did you hit it?" and he checked my head, told me to hold my hand to my head firmly, ran to the freezer and dumped *all* his ice into a kitchen towel and held it to the spot. He moved me to the couch and asked me tons of questions to make sure I was concussion-free. I kept saying "Lol, I think I'm good" and trying to remove the ice from my head and he just sternly looked at me and said "No! You KEEP this here until I know you're OK."

Virgo and I were in the bathroom together, I ended up tripping over the tub and I banged my head the bar. Virgo grabbed my head, checked it, rubbed it and kissed it. Then told me "You're OK but you're going to spend the rest of your life retarded. At least you're pretty!"
(.. Hmm. I get hit in the head a lot.)

Aries got HUGE negative marks, Scorp got HUGE positive marks and Virgo also got positive marks but not like Scorp. The jackass lol.

I would never allow a guy to get through my purse. I had a cancer guy, I caught him on my phone. I told him if I *ever* caught him doing something like that again I would dump his ass. He went through my computer a week later. Dumped. And he acted shocked lol.

As for things like scraping ice off my car window, yeah I'd count that as a little thing tho. If I asked for a guy to help and he bitched, complained or refused- negative. Its a positive if I didn't have to ask🙂

Honestly, it wouldn't have been that big of a deal with the frozen ice, except when I was outside i the middle of night scraping it off he came to the door and asked if I was alright and went back inside. -.- WTF!!! He should have went outside to help me (he was a lazy Taurus).

Lol @ sass

I'm as cynical as they comes when it comes to relationships 😢 I like to call my love the gauntlet.

Love will lead me to do crazy things and I'm afraid testing the people who declare their love for me is the least of their worries lol

Its how Ive always learned, I don't know if its an aqua thing but Ive always noticed peoples buttons and when to push them I learnt it from my mum and dad both are gemini lol

I need a boyfriend who is patient and has a high tolerance threshold because I will put them through the ringer to prove his love.
Its like I need to show him how bad things can get straight up so I can get that out of the way and move on to being the best boyfriend ever.

because I am the best boyfriend ever the most supportive, helpful, loving, protective, generous not mention gorgeous so I just can't give the best of me away nillly willy

Lately, I feel as though I've been giving my worse instead of my best. I'm not sure why I've been doing that, maybe as you had pointed out to prove their love, I don't know.

I test them by spending time with them and getting to know them the old fashioned way. Apparently I'm doing it wrong though.

You don't make a mental list of the pro's and con's of the girl you're dating? Haha! I was curious on how different the male aqua's are from the female aqua's in the dating world.

Haha nope. Might just be a personal thing. I've never being really picky or have a list of requirements. I think everyone has flaws it's more if you can live with it and see the brighter side.

Have any of you put someone through the ringer, just because? As in trying to be the worst possible dating candidate on purpose?

Yes, and I'm not proud of it. I had just got out of a terrible relationship with an Aries and ended up with a Sag. He was complete opposite of what I was use to. He treated me wonderful and no matter how mean I was or how bad I treated him, he was alway there.

My decision is based on observation not tests. How he treats other people says a lot about his character. Maturity and consistency is what I look for in a partner.Aquarians take a lot of time to warm upto a person. I do not initiate conversations through text messaging or phone calls and in the past It was often misconstrued by ex boyfriends as "test" which was far from truth. I don't like to deliberately flirt with another man to test if my man gets jealous. It would backfire big time as my man is a stinger, lol. If I was interested in the beginning but got distant and cold later,it's a clue that either they messed up or bored the hell out of me.

For some reason I don't like to initiate conversation through text or phone calls either. I feel like I'm bugging people when I do.

Aquadeer, if you backed off because that person messed up or bored you, would you explain to them why you felt that way? And would they be able to make it up to you, or are you pretty much done at that point?

It would depend on my feelings for the other person.

For example I once dated a Taurus that was good looking man, but damn he was dumb and boring. I tried to make the relationship work, but we were just two different people with nothing in common. I ended it by not talking to him anymore, wouldn't take his calls and acted like he didn't exist. I was also a lot younger and immature when I did this. In my mind (at the time)I felt I was doing us both a favor and ending it before it became something much worse.

As of now, I'm older and I know what I like and don't like. If I really liked the guy and he messed up by cheating or being to boring, I would explain to him that it's not working out and we should both move on. I don't want to waste his or my time, when I could be focusing that attention on someone that I want to build a solid relationship with.

No, he would not be able to make it up in a cheating circumstance, because once trust is gone, (for me) there's no point of a relationship.

If he's boring, there's a possibility that it can be made up, but honestly it would only be a temporary change, because people are, who they are.

i learned over time and experience and with my ex's too, that if I don't have a "connection" with someone, and i FORCE myself to be with him because he exempflies all the criteria for me -- he is super ambitious, confident, i feel he is powerful enough to withstand alot, and is super smart (genius level), but i still have NO connection, then it's NOT enough.
there was always a missing link. As if there is nothing there. I stayed loyal and true blue but it's NOT enough. he resented my emotional side too i noticed. He hated it when i cried and called it weak.
so no....beyond the testing out your partner, the connection NEEDS to be there.

I agree with having/ needing a connection. Without the connection, there's no relationship (for me).

+1

yup.

he could be the most confident, smartest man, most ambitious, powerful man in the world. Lol (sounds like Hercules) but if he ain't got a connection going. Forget it.

Unfortunately, guys out there are clueless as hell. They just see a woman and if she is pretty enough in their eyes, and physically beautiful in their vision as an example, they go ape shit and ga-ga goo goo.

I dont trust a man who falls EASILY for beautiful women. Or who they deem beautiful in their eyes.

A man who wants more substance always a huge WIN.

still...connection. big plus!
