When people try to help...

And they just fail lol

I put a rant on social media complaining that my local mall has absolutely nothing that I would go out of my way to buy because nothing fits and nothing matches my fashion sense.....I only go to thrift stores and get basics from Kmart and shit......I also ranted how whenever its payday I go out for lunch with friends and I go shopping with them I always end up wasting money and going home with shit..

Anyways this lovely lady I vaguely know who works at different stores left me a message saying she will hook me up with a bag of clothes and tells me to come into the mall to collect them....

So I drag my ass to the mall expecting to get a bag full of Roberto cavalli, Versace, dolce etc, I'll admit my imagination escaped me a bit, so I dragged my ass all the way and met her and she gives me the bag and I'm like "omg thank you so much" showing all kinds of gratitude and shit and then I go home and open the bag....

WTF is this shit? Who does she think I am? She must have misread my status and thought I was a poor person and that I can't afford clothes, there was an oversized hoody, a white shirt and and black shirt and a long sleeve shirt....

Like why the fuck would you go to all that trouble to give someone shit for?

I know I sound like an asshole and I know what she did was out of good intention, but if I go out of my way to give someone something it's gonna be the good shit.

I bought my friend a gears of war retro lancer which is worth 400 and I got it for 50, he's a gamer and when you get someone a rare present like that they drop to their knees and and cry....

My love language is Gifts it doesn't matter how valuable the gift is, if you give me something well thought out that suits me and helps me then im gonna love you for it, if you get me shit then I'm gonna hate you, I know hate is a strong word, the best I can do is just say thanks and call it a day.

Look I am grateful, sometimes it's hard for me to accept help from people, I just had a rant on social media and she read it and then went out of her way to help me so I thought it was pretty weird considering we've only met once before....the thing that frustrates me is that I can't genuinely express the gratitude to her face, I would have taken photos of me wearing the shit and posted a status saying a huge thank you but the clothes are not me and are embarrassing. And I feel frustrated that I'm going to have to give them away and it's another episode of me going to the mall for no reason and coming back home with shit..

They're preppy and I'm an adult, I wear fitted basics with leather boots, brown leather belt and a black leather jacket in winter. I don't wear faded clothes and that's about it.....My drag persona is a lot more colourful obviously but as a guy I love vintage silk shirts and clothes that feel good on my skin

Not a great attitude to have or way to say it. Because she tried to help she didn't fail...she passed the generosity test. You failed for laughing behind her back.

I get what you're saying but I think she miss understood what you were complaining about. If you don't live in NYC or LA I just don't see how you'd be able to get your hands on some good clothes. Pass the bag along to the salvation army.

If it was me I'd write on social media:

"thank you for kindness. do you give me permission to pass them to 3rd party. cause we found no time to dress and analyse the outcome. still warm-hearted that you offered help."

maybe if money were involved, they'd more likely check the clothes.

Mall clothing is and always will be shit. Go thrifting for your vintage silk shirts and belts etc.
