My husband can make ten times the amount I can, so I stay home to take care of him while he supports my bad habits.

If I'm not here, talking to you all, or day-dreaming about some stupid fantasy that isn't likely to ever come true, then I'm either doing laundry, or cleaning something. Cooking isn't my thing, I try, but, I'm not very good at it. What I do for fun, well, it's not fun, actually, it's my art. I'm an artist.

Yeah, but I think I might chill out on that for a while to try some acting...I should be able to at least make a little $ $ $ doing what I do on the side.

THERE IS NO $ $ $ in music unless you are a producer that can sell your beats or you have an established audience and were able to get a deal at a major label.

On the other hand with movies, commercial, etc. the majority of the $ $ comes out of the studio's pocket...not the artists.

My total fantasy would be...

Marry somebody rich, handsome, tall, and BEAUTIFUL. I can do all the household chores and throw pottery all day (to sell in stores but mostly because I love it!) or be able to use my creative energies without losing my apartment.

Really he doesn't have to be Bill Gates rich...just sufficient to let me be able to follow my dreams. I tell you this because I figure you would understand...when I tell other people they automatically assume I am a golddigger.

Well I USED to play trumpet, but not anymore.

I have mainly been singing and doing hip-hop...I have so many creative talents though it seems like I can't figure out which one I love more. I wanna be J-Lo in theory though...TV, Music, Clothes, that sort of thing.

NOW? I am a f-ing secretary. "Construction Administration" (a f-ing Secretary) I could have some high powered job but I SUCK at office politics because I REFUSE to compromise myself. Plus I can't see spending the rest of my life making someone else millions while I live check to check. I am just so different from everyone here...Some people love it some hate me for it.

I would move to the islands and live with the Rastifarians...carefree, debt free, just free! BUT I feel like there is a purpose for me here. I don't know what it is...but I know it is there

I don't think that at all. I worked for years and years and years, and now, I'm in a position where I can concentrate on my art - however, talking all day on message boards doesn't get work accomplished - at least, that's what one would think. But, that's not true, I do actually get work done by talking here because I'm a novelist and I am always pulling things off here - little sayings, or people's quirks.

But, a golddigger, no, I don't think that. That was my dream too, to just sit back and be who I am and create my stuff. My husband just wants to work, that's all. Sometimes, I tell him that I will go back to work, so he can have time off, but, he's a workeraholic, so he'd be miserable. I wasn't always in this position. We struggled for a long time with money.

I hope you're able to obtain your dreams. That's not a bad. I don't think badly of you about wanting that.

You should try out for American Idol - maybe you can find what you want through them.

Construction pays pretty good money. Nothing wrong with being a secretary. I hear ya with the office politics stuff - I don't well with those kinds of restrictions either. Non-conformist, that's my motto in life.

Actually some people appreciate it, some don't. I sing more in the tradition of the Whitney Houston's and Mariah Carey (Not necessarily the high notes) the strong booming voice...but these days in the the wake of the Ashanti's of the world...What I like to call the Whisper singing...People tend to say my singing voice sounds churchy...

Most black people I know who sing well started off in the church (as did I) so what the hell do they expect? DUH! Seriously though...if I had to compare myself to anyone vocally in sound, it would be Fantasia from American Idol. She has a very powerful voice but not like say Beyonce...she has more of a "beautiful" voice but she does TOO many damn trills & curly ques for me!

Hopefully it will all work out though...I need to look up when the next audition is speaking of that. Thanks for the vote of confidence though!

Growing up my mom had this friend she too was black she used to take me to church with her I loved it! I would get out of my chair and dance!!! and try to sing...it was powerful!! I would look around and realize I was the only white girl in there! And my singing at that age was probably nails on chalkboard bad!!!! lol! I didnt care I loved it! Whitney and Mariah are my fav a coulpe of my favs as well....I love Mariah's new albulm I cant get enough of "shake it off" and "say somethin"!!

But for real...I'm so sorry to hear this. Perhaps it's just a phase? I know as a female cancer, I can seemingly go from hot to cold to hot again within a two hour period! I read somewhere on one of these posts much earlier in the years someone pretty accurately described Cancers as testing the water. Stick one claw in, run back to the shell, check the water again to make sure it is the right temp. Run back in, check it again still (b/c the temp might have changed), retreat to the shell.

Obviously he must be feeling something for you...give him a minute to sort out his feelings which is probably what he is doing. Looking at you like, does she really like me or is she trying to get something from me?

About 4 weeks ago, at my English class, I used the same words in different form. It was "Are you checking us out?". The teacher (female) was shocked. She said "What did you say?". I said "Are you testing us?". She took deep breath and said "Checking us out means to try make you boyfriend or girlfriend and so on". I was shocked because I didnt mean anything like that. So, since that time I am careful with that word. And if we come back to our topic, I would say "What I typed above about you and your pic was just a compliment and joke. I didnt mean anything that may lead you to try to 'check me out'".

Maybe the taurus in you made you a little insenstive. I can be blunt without even realizing it. People are wayyyyyyy too sensitive sometimes!
