Let's sketch (Drawing or Painting) one piece a day (or More) and then share here (:

this is from the other day and for a client.

hence why it's hidden.. but I'll upload something soon for today. not hide it

I appreciate the varying weight of the strokes, the shading looks good and I know the dark portions took work 😎

Also this means I have to figure out how to upload photos now...used to work, now it doesn't n I'm too impatient to tinker w/it lol.

I've always had a weird thing w/drawing fingers. In high school I painted a tree that had fingers as the roots. It was kickass.

Never being good at sketching. Always to impatient and want to start painting it. Playing with colors and mixing them is what I like best, but I have always admired pencil sketches so I will give it a try.

Still I don’t think I can do it for more than 5 mins 😄

oh I couldn't agree with you more ! you can paint sketch. That's what I'm doing.

I'm just so impatient and have to practice patience when painting. .

I can be real slow with my painting but I have more fun just letting the

watercolor do what it wants. I have better results when taking my time

but I start to fall asleep sometimes and it just takes a while.

I'm still in two minds about that. Abstract scares the hell out of me to try and do, but at the same time realism just seems like a waste of life. Like I'd rather just save time and take a photo lol so yeah I can see how abstract is the way to go

Yo abstract is fun as shit!

I like getting my paints out, and finding random things that maaaybe could be used somehow, like plastic wrap/ziplock baggies, rubbing alcohol, cardboard pieces, salt, etc...just random things.

And then I just go for it n experiment and see what I come up with. It's really fun! The painting takes YOU along for the ride instead of you trying to mess around w/stupid details n being a perfectionist.

Umm I don’t know. I have being drawing and painting since I was a little girl and it is part of my job. Still not very patient 😄😄😄

Yes I have, hahahaha, that is when I loose my patience and I start to get messy. That is why I love painting because I can get very messy.

But I admire it so much!!!! All that lines, details and precision. Awesome!!!

I really love the texture too

I haven't uploaded anything with watercolor yet where I glaze mostly (use layering technique)

100% because I've been frustrated and a bit at war with that technique lately.

I've been pulled to be a bit more experimental for the thread mostly.

I just think layering has been frustrating for me because it takes

so much time and most of my work revolve around using that technique.

It's good for detailed work but I just want to let go and not sit for hours.

So here, I just used a more direct method, paint in fragments. probably more

commonly used in gouache paintings? It's faster for me and a breath of fresh~air

Yeah that is the key. It's like when we first learn to create, we have fun..

but when we get older we just want to learn about making it look better...

we learn new tools and skills and forget how to just return to that childlike feeling again...

that is what I'm doing my best to return to with my watercolor paining.
