Why can't we just allow her to be who she is--without having to contest it with our own opinions? She opened this thread for us to ask questions from a perspective of a Trans-gendered Female, not for us to tell her why we think her perspective is different than our own. I think this was supposed to be a learning moment for us to know what's like for a Transgender Female, from her point of view, NOT ours.

She's the one who did that though. That fact seemed to fly over your little head.

Not everyone understands and when they were prompted to ask questions BY HER, I might add ... she's the one who flew off the handle, not being able to handle that people don't understand.

she just wanted to be validated without actually hearing the questions she asked for.

How ridiculous of YOU to say: "to tell her why we think her perspective is different than our own" ... when she fucking asked people to speak about her being transgendered.

You're not the sharpest knife in ANY drawer, are you?

MilanKisses,

But CC is NOT one of those people who are out brutalizing transgenders.

That's the point I was trying to make.

But yet her comment offended you....why?
Because he's a privileged white man who thinks he can walk in my shoes. Whereas ive never stated i can walk in his.

To the op

Like i said i will always defend against injustice don't mean i have to have the same opinion as you on what makes a man a man and a woman a woman.

Do you.
Actually I am Filipino.... Dont judge me by the color of my skin!

@-Elle,

That doesn't make sense to me. Amy Scumer talks all the time about being fat. Labels don't count if the person claims it as a way to empower themselves.

To use your argument against labels as a way to avoid seeing people for who they are and addressing their concerns and understanding their perspectives...that's just as harmful as someone who uses labels as a weapon.

If the OP wants to talk about her being trans, it makes zero sense for someone to say "HEY! STOP LABELING YOURSELF! I JUST SEE OP!"

If somebody chooses to identify themselves, and you or anyone discriminates, it's more your problem than theirs.

If you were to describe any of those people you listed in your example to someone else - you would use the labels you so despise.

Well, I was gonna stay outta this drama cause I'm a woman, and was born a woman...but I just need to say more power to ya OP.

At a previous job we had an LGBTQ training and one of them was a trans-man. He was cool about explaining it. I'm sure there are quite a few mental effects that can come about when a person is born in the wrong body. I'm not gonna chime in on the whole 'real' woman thing...but yeah, kickass for you...you do you cause you're a human being, with feelings. ๐Ÿ™‚

@LilyPetal,

The OP is a transgender....which means she was not born a woman, but identifies herself as a woman.

She stated herself that she's upfront with all the men that she dates.

She tells them that she is 'transgender'...which implies 'born a man....now living as a woman.'

If she was certain she was 100% woman, she wouldn't feel the need to disclose that to the men that she dates.

This is bullshit and you know it.

I have women refuse to date me simply because I'm a bisexual man. Had I not been upfront about that to begin with.. I put myself in a position to expect retaliation.

Ever seen "Boys don't Cry"?

Yeah.. Best not to hide those facts. Even more so when you're transgender and haven't transitioned.

You put yourself in danger by not doing so.. Especially with the current political culture.

It is ALWAYS a good idea to be upfront about who you are, regardless of the outcome. Especiallyif it involves cisgender straight males.

Her wanting to tell the men she dates that she is pre-op trans shows some level of self-confidence in her identity, not the other way around.

It's not the same thing as say, not disclosing the fact that you haven't been paying your taxes for the last 10 years.

I have a close friend who is very attracted to transwomen - not as a fetish, but he finds he's more attracted to them than to cisgender women.

He was really afraid about how people saw him and his preferences, even asking me if that attraction made him gay.

I explained to him that he's still straight, because gender wise a transwoman is still a woman.

i'm trying to articulate my thoughts without coming across as rude. i believe in people living as they want, but i disagree with "woman" and "man" being used so loosely. in your mind, you are a woman, and i'm not here to tell you how to feel or think. but in my small opinion, men can never really change themselves into women. you don't have a menstrual. you do not have a womb. you cannot give birth. you don't experience a lot of what natural born women go through physically. i'm not saying this in any bad way; i just feel like being a woman is more than a "feeling" and shaping one's body to look the part. you got the opportunity to surpass a lot of what cis females had to endure in order to grow into women. it's kind of hard to accept you as an equal.
Not all women breed, even if they could. She is more like a post menopausal woman on HRT.

I'm sure she had endured enough to "grow into woman".

E
I seen where you edited your post and since I was initially speaking directly to you and you were allowing people to speak for you instead of speaking up for yourself.....the conversation went different directions.

I also have to be clear....half of the posts on this thread are invisible to me because I have a lot of these idiots blocked....so my posts stand independent and are not to be mixed with theirs.

We all have soft spots in our psyche. Mine is race. Yours is sexuality. It's important that we respect this in each other and come from a place of empathy in order to find a middle ground.

What you take offense to and what I take offense to might come from different places due to experience but the feelings and emotions are the same.

In no way was I negating your experience or making light of your situation because I know what that feels like. However, your situation is different than other forms of discrimination and has different elements to it. When you compared your struggle to racism...my back arched and I do not apologise for this. If you were offended I would expect you to speak up for yourself as well.

Thank you. The editing of that happened long before others responded to it. It's just a lost cause to try to fight it and make people believe that. Wish they had time stamps on when it was last edited.

I have read the entire fucking thread and my one question has been asked several times. I accept you do not wish to discuss your genetalia, fair enough! But perhaps address the people that have asked and say I wish not to discuss that as I find it unfair you welcome questions and appear to pick and choose which ones you'll answer.

ANYWAY!!! I can not relate to you because I have not lived in your shoes HOWEVER I am he daughter of a black lesbian and my step mum is white. I was raised in the LGBT community so have a lot of understanding of you as a person. A close family friend went through the transition of female to male. See his struggle, physical and emotional pain was heart wrenching and inspiring all at the same time. So I applaud your strength and courage, not everyone can live their life fully, with no regrets. There are so many people living a lie, dead inside. You live your life and be happy. Much love โค๏ธ

PS I always see the validation argument on DXP. It got thrown at me too. So fucking what? It's nice to be told 'you're ok' sometimes. If people think those that seek validation have 'deep' psychological problems what does it say about 'you', the person kicking them at a vulnerable state.

Good luck Milani.

Yes I.m emotional as a woman... a commercial can set me off crying- good or sad. I look at sex differently now too - I want it to be more meaningful and special. My decision making is more thorough too

These things do not make a woman.

I do not cry at commercials

Sex for me is not automatically and initially meaningful and special.

My decisions can be rapid and focused.

Your understanding of what makes a woman is sounding very much like based on a patriarchal definition.

Look disagree with her. What she says, how she says it - vehemently and vociferously if you feel compelled to - but to say that to someone who is ill, likely suffering, and who could very well be at the end is deeply wrong. And deep down you know it is too.

Regardless of what you think of her or anyone else's behaviour, we always should try to hold ourselves to a moral standard.

Neuroscience has identified hundreds of anatomical and chemical differences between the male and female brains.

You're more than welcome to chop off your dick .. but, you're still male.

You're more than welcome to check out before the allotted time the doctor gave you.

That's uncalled for.
So is 98% of the shit she says.

Look disagree with her. What she says, how she says it - vehemently and vociferously if you feel compelled to - but to say that to someone who is ill, likely suffering, and who could very well be at the end is deeply wrong. And deep down you know it is too.

Regardless of what you think of her or anyone else's behaviour, we always should try to hold ourselves to a moral standard.

why should my opinion of her change simply because she is ill?

You shouldn't change your opinion. I'm just saying that saying "die sooner" to a woman who could very well do that is uncalled for. It's insensitive and immature and cruel.

Now you will argue that she has down and said much worse and that could be true. But I am talking to you. You are the only person you can control. If she is a woman you dislike so much, is there any sense for you to copy her?

For those who are actually interested in where some of the latest research in Neuroscience is pointing with regards to male/female difference in brain structure/function:

"Perhaps the mounting evidence that brains canโ€™t be neatly divided into sex-based groups will prompt a game-changing alteration in how we approach this issue.. What is really meant by a 'sex difference'? Taken straightforwardly, one would assume a 'difference' implies the two groups measured are distinct. That the characteristics true of one are almost always not true of the other, that itโ€™s possible to predict characteristics based on sex or vice versa, or that knowing to which group an individual belonged would allow you to reliably predict their performance, responses, abilities and potential. But we now know that this simply doesnโ€™t reflect reality."

"Indeed, it is assumed that the male and the female brains are very different because males and female behaviors differ so significantly. But over the last few decades, neuroscientists have been looking for major anatomical differences and did not find that many. Actually, they've found surprisingly few differences...."

Yet at conception a male/female is created based on X/Y chromosomes, differences in brain function or not, there's a predisposition to one or the other sex. The miracle is, there's never a half male/half female born. Why attempt to genetically engineer a human being some 20 years after birth? It's way beyond our present capabilities to attempt to do so.

There is. Aren't they called intersex?
