Let's discuss delusions people have

There are those that live in the "Glory Days". You all know a person, that loves to tell stories about their past accomplishments in high school or in their younger years. They live in the past, and can't step out of it. They are incapable of understanding that the person they were then, is not the person they are now 10+ years later. Physically and mentally.

Then there are the people that believe they "deserve" a certain level of physical attractiveness in a potential spouse, even though they themselves aren't of the same caliber as what they require of their significant other. Reality to these people is only the tangible one that they have built in their mind, but is probably not realistic to their current status.

Then there are the people that may represent themselves to the world as more than what they are. By that, I mean, that they may "say" they are X, Y, and Z to potential spouses, but are really A, B, and C. This isn't always something that can be proven off the bat, but its something I notice happens. I call this the chameleon effect.

I had shit years in high school hahah.

I think its much more better for them being delusional, be confident and be happy, than accepting the truth they sucks and be sad, depressed and keep depressed of who they are.

Logical perspective, i think its not chameleon, chameleon change depending on their surrounding.

I think, its delusional effect, or cant move on/stuck on the past effect.

Well... as long as they did not bother me, they can do whatever they like i guess.

I did not like judging other people who do no bad on me.

It's simple. Ignorance is bliss. The truth is depressing to them, so they instead prefer to make themselves feel better by living in a state of delusion. Ands is a prime example of that. Although the harder he tries, it's even more indicative of the delusion actually failing to register in his mind so he tries even harder.

I think, no one can live in absolute reality, some amount of delusion is always there. Sadly... But then what is delusion? Maybe what I think is reality, will be delusion to u or what u think is reality is delusion to me.... I think its relative.

Of course they know full well what they are doing - if they didn't know it would be too easy to catch them in their own game. So they create a facade, an illusion of an ideal.

Although with an odd twist, such effort in order to achieve some sort of self-worth and in most cases, some amount of money, can be considered somewhat delusional.

i like to look back at the past though, i love memories and childhood because it is the journey as a human being to come into this world and look back at the good and bad and what mistakes we did and try and do better.

if we forgot about our past, it would be terrible. we would end up making the same mistakes over and over again. and never learn from it.

and also if someone accomplished something in the past, like running a marathon 20 years ago and can't do it now...they can smile and think, wow!!! i could do it back then without breaking my back and running out of breath and taking heart pills.

The best thing you can do for yourself and your man is to not attach any labels to what you are. Just appreciate it as it is without making it more complicated. You should've seen the way Jed shut his own mother down a couple days ago. He told her about us and she got very inquisitive about "where he stands". He shut her down good. My heart still skips a beat every time I flash back to it.

i only saw the last film where the woman orchestrated everything and she wanted the man to be the man and the women be socialites. that was a weirdly "controlled" environment.

The women are 50-50.

Half are divorced with multiple kids, bitching about their ex husband and his new 25 year old girlfriend and posting those "I'm a strong woman" memes on FB.

The other half went full on Christian housewife, have 4 kids, don't work, and spend time selling natural weight loss cures on FB.
