Both work. I prefer blonde though. I think if you do go Dark go a warmer dark. But I think blonde suits you 🙂

Blond hair looks completely unnatural, as it's clear it's not your real color.

Ooh, something else to consider along the lines of brown- I know someone who did a color that I would call "rose gold." It was a reddish brown, but had almost a rosy pink undertone to it. It was a really, really nice color and she was going from much lighter to a darker shade.

You could pull off some of the red coloring as well as lighter blonde/highlight look all in one.

This is the closest I could find that matched color wise. Hers had a little more brown vs red in it though, Search "rose brown hair color" or "rose gold hair color" and you'll see a few variations. All are really pretty.

Rockyroad, thank you for taking the time to respond, the photo (example), and your advice. I really have usually gone from one extreme to the other and back for years.

But, now that you've explained how the dark washes out my features, that one is a no.

Rose Gold is gorgeous. I've been looking at images and I just Love it. I'm way excited, because I now have decided. ⭐️⭐️

I also love how it has a little bit of everyone's suggestion in it, especially StarLover bringing red into it, and making me think of it too. I've always thought red would not fit me, but with all of the colors incorporated, I think the perfect shade of red will look nice.

My hair is dark and I put in both high and low lights. Everyone has told me how much younger I look. So I would try that :-) similar to below

agreed. leave those eyebrows alone. and then redone it.
