This is only the 5th time the president elect did not win the popular vote and 3 out of the other 4 times were the 1800's. The only other time in our lifetime was Al Gore.
The Electoral College is not a broken system. Without it most of the states might as well just not vote.
This is Democratic party/media propaganda. Is Trump a piece of shit? Yes, but he won fair and square. And Hillary is no better. The super delegates in the primaries are definitely unnecessary as its basically like a double vote but that is the hypocritical Democratic party for ya.

I agree but that wasn't the system Clinton and Trump accepted when they chose to enter the run for presidency. They went in knowing they had to win the most electoral votes just as it has been for the past 180 years. Hillary has already conceded the election and recognized Donald Trump as the winner. The only ones who are bothered by this loss are the ones who voted for Hillary.
If Hillary won the Electoral Vote but lost the Popular Vote would we still be this upset about it? We can push for the proper modifications to election process now that the race has ended but I feel we're too late to try to change the results as they stand currently. What this petition is trying to achieve is entirely possible but I wonder if it would convince enough electors to follow through.
In order for the petition to achieve it's goal at least 37 Republican party electors must go rogue and steal the election for Hillary in defiance of the recognized rules as well as the states they're supposed to be representing.
To me this poses as a danger to the democracy because if this were to become the norm the votes of the masses would become even less relevant than they seem now because then the electoral college may choose to screw the people over whenever they wish because we've allowed them to. Meaning, when the candidate we vote for next time actually wins the voters of the losing party may simply choose to file their own petition and have enough electors betray who they represent to make the losing candidate win anyway.
