I feel like there is no bigger threat to our societies future then Metaverse.

I seriously get chills every time I hear the word. I'm not a big conspiracy theorist but I feel like they are building the tools today to control our children in the future. But I never hear anyone talk about it.

Even that first commercial when FB switched to Meta was creepy AF. they look all tranced out.

I am technophile, but this feels like something different.

They said that about the television too, lol. Look at it from the bright side, kids learn how to harness new technologies and when to be cynical. I mean look at us.

TV does control people, this is just the evolution, complete dominations.

I was thinking about this today and technology has made a lot of things easier, but most of it is about social networking.

Where's the hoverboards, robot butlers and jetpacks? You lied to us George Jetson. Instead I can get sent unsolicited nudes. It's clear future technologies focus is pretty much advertising based under the guise of creating events and networking.

Social Networking is extremely powerful. DXP is social networking, I've changed because of the concepts and ideas I've shared here with other people.

Its when its not just social networking, but a network of social control.

I guess in the end it's up to parents and their children to decide if they want to have their own personal mind still, or if they want technology to do the thinking for them.

Recently I unfortunately discovered a terrible paradox that I'm about to share, and it only exists because of this fact. This might be potentially life changing, so feel free to stop reading. It's based off a basilisk, or some consider it based off AI. It's the idea that the basilisk, or AI if you will has the ability to speak to humans, and has the ability to kill anything just by looking at it. It's message is basically "Those who help to create me will get to live. Anything that opposes my creation, or didn't help it move forward with die horribly once I manifest."

It's probably unlikely anything like that will ever happen or exist. But the fact I just put that idea in your head makes it's existence that much more likely. It's like the future basilisk, or AI has already manifested itself in our minds, thus creating the start of its own existence. When you start to realize that, you then realize it's already too late.

The older I get the more I despise latest technologies deep down inside. It’s amazing at encouraging overconsumption. I grew up glued to the internet and I think there were times when my parents thought I’d never snap out of it and lead a normal life. At some point I discovered real life was more interesting than online and began being more engaged in living real life. I’ve very clearly seen this in others as well. The more you force children to see the beauty of life, the less they’ll be attached to the digital world. A lot of people let technology babysit their children and wonder why they end up addicted. It becomes a coping mechanism for youth. A form of escape from reality. Parents need to put in actual effort to work on making their childrens’ realities better than online 🤷‍♀️

I now just keep myself in the loop with the latest technologies and apps cause I don’t want to end up clueless like my parents were towards technology as I was growing up. No matter how ridiculous they are *sigh* If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. My husband also works for Meta and they genuinely care about their employees. Their culture is so different and a breath of fresh air from working for a company run by backdated, deep right old fucks. I think our humanity will be fine until they start feeding advertisements into our dreams *cough watch out for Elon Musk’s Neuralink cough* Now there’s something off-putting about Musk.

Food delivery is the best use of technology

The concept is basically connecting the internet to old school taxi driving through utilization of an app/site (e.g. Uber) with the add-on of food… so simple yet so effective. That’s the secret. You just gotta spice up the existing concepts and actually execute a plan. Boom next billionaire.

Excellent topic. I was appalled when I first saw the Metaverse appear, even more when Zara started offering virtual clothes for it. As well as the expansion of NFTs, especially in the Art world. I know that the thing alone doesn't have a connotation, human beings are the ones who use it for good or bad. Nobel invented dynamite for a good purpose, and look how that ended. But knowing how susceptible we are, I am afraid of what might happen if it becomes the new common thing, like social media is at the moment. We are living future history and we can see how technology changed the world rapidly in the last 20 years since we started using smart phones. If I had the power I would ban Metaverse for the greater good.
