idk how close you are with this friend - but personally, i would not fuse friendship and living.
but that is just me, not a judgement.
i think it´s better for all involved, when the rules/word is out. lamentation afterwards is too late.

I def agree on the rules and I was planning on that at a sit down. I personally would never consider that a gift. If someone gifted me with that I'd find it so condescending lol. But the rainbow is beautiful because of all the different colors so there you go.
I could see that she might appreciate it. Also though when it comes to rules I want to draft it together since it's already my place I don't want her to feel like I'm the "boss" or something...

Hello dxp folks,Just need some suggestions regarding a gift. So my friend is moving in with me and because she's moving into my place I thought it'd be nice to get her a "welcome to your new home" gift for self-explanatory reasons.
She doesn't have any dishes and although she's obviously more than welcome to use mine was thinking a little dish set for 2.

I moved in with a good friend of mine recently. I’d known about her previous roommate woes, think she stole or used, problems she caused. In addition to knowing her preferences from being my friend.So I bought her a bunch of grocery and house items. Her favorite flowers. A handwritten card with a poem I wrote about her, friendship and new beginnings.
She was away on a trip the weekend I moved in so I vacuumed and mopped the house, bought new candles and lit them before she got home. Bathed her dog.
She took me out to dinner and bought champagne and we stayed up drinking the night she got back.
really sweet....but too mushy for me. Maybe it helps if I mention my placements: Cap, Libra Moon, Aqua Merc, Aqua Venus, Sag Mars...

Take her advice! I watch allot of Judge Judy and I'm like, "Why didn't they communicate what they want/don't want?!" That's WHY I NEVER want a room mate. ESP the part about bringing in a guy over; before you know it, he will be there for three months! 😱

well i think everyone needs a cap friend 😛. Sometimes she gets on my nerves for being last minute about things or not planning things properly but her enthusiasm is contagious which is something I appreciate.
She can get pushy so I push back and at the end we're okay lol.

lol @ Judge Judy. Yes, me too. Trust me, already thought about the rules thing but wouldn't give it as a gift. That's not a gift in my opinion.
I was also very apprehensive and I'm going have to bend a little in things BUT it will also be fun to have a partner in crime. She works a lot and so do I so that might be good for us to not get on each other's nerves. Plus it will be a good motivation for me to get out of the house when I want me time like go to the library or a cafe and read a book by myself. 😄

Girl, if you tell her about the "rules" don't you think it will go in one ear and out the other? She'll agree with you and then forget! You haven't learned from Judge Judy when she says, "Where is the contract? Anything outside the four corners of this is null and void until you add an asterisk (*) and you BOTH sign it!". If she breaks a rule, you can always point to this said gift and say, "Remember this rule?"
But again, to each his own.....see ya on Judge Judy next year!!! 😉

This doesn't need to be a "my house my rules" because we're both adults and i'm not her provider. So yeah, I'm a Libra Moon and i like things fair and considerate.

I can tell some things I've told her she crunched up her nose but I just explain my point of view and I can tell its hard for her to digest but she goes along with it. lol.

That's funny i came to this conclusion after dealing with two Taurus males with mutable moons. Gem and virgo moon.

The dishes is a cute idea or pillows and a nice velvety blanket she can be cozy in. Do you know her colors for her bedding? A simple throw blanket to add on top would be a nice gift.

I have two and I love them. It's not real velvet but is super soft.
