I was in the store one day talkin about something I can't remember but this lady said "Man he speaks well".
Several months ago before me and Jed got intimate for the first time, a middle-aged woman kept staring at us and smiling as we were goofing around (aka me entertaining him and him laughing his ass off). When we got closer to her, she said "you're a really beautiful couple". Jed laughed good-naturedly but I blushed & mildly sulked and had to correct her, that we're not a couple at all.
She said that she was newly into the acceptance phase, her kid had recently come out to her. She was still trying to wrap her head around it but the idea didn't repulse her.

One time I went with my grandparents to Kay Jewelers and the lady that was helping us asked my grandparents if I was their daughter when I went off to the bathroom, and they said no our granddaughter. And then she told my grandma "Oh she seems like a good girl I can tell. She seems sweet." Something like that, I cant remember the exact words. But my grandparents told me she said that. I really take that as a compliment, especially because I dont get compliments from strangers often. People say that about me often and Im kinda suprised because I feel like I am too shy at times and I dont seem very expressive so I feel like I come off mean or stuck up but I guess I dont which suprises me. I sometimes feel a bit pressured because you know, Im not perfect and I definitely get upset, angry, and have bad sides to me, but if I come off as genuinely kind I take that as a really good thing. Just sometimes people overreact when I do get upset or angry because for some reason they dont expect that of me—? Trust me I get into many arguments online I can't stay kind to everyone if theyre mean ya know. A few years back at the fast food job I had there was a customer who told me to "keep that smile on your face and being friendly and you'll get far".
It made me feel so good to hear it because although I know I'm usually a friendly, happy person...it sometimes feels like people think I'm just really annoying and that I don't take things seriously. Not the case. I just get awkward and distant when shit gets too heavy.
It was just a nice pat on the back and it's something that even 5 yrs (or so, can't quite rememeber the exact momth/year) later I still think back on and smile about 🙂

My friend had to hide them but he kept finding them and I had to keep taking them away from him. But he kept thanking me for looking out for him and having a good head on my shoulders. I have never received so many compliments about my character, especially not from a complete stranger. He was an Aries.. Like how I remembered his sign but not his name.. LOL
The fact that you repeatedly looked out for someone you barely knew says a lot about your character ❤

When I first started my new job a guy who barely knew me who intimidated everyone else said to me'Elly, I'm 100% certain that there is nothing out of your reach, nothing you're afraid of or can't do.'
I don't remember why he said that but it was on a day where I felt so small and been having a rough go of it. I felt insecure and pathetic. And he said it with a sense of awe, not sympathy. It made me realize that even though I feel small inside a lot I keep working. It was really encouraging.
Another one is when I told my father about my plans to move, in the midst of a lot of personal failures and struggles in my life. I was hesitant to tell him because I was expecting him to tell me it was a bad idea and lecture me about having not thought anything through. My father is rarely optimistic. Instead he said
'I'm proud. If I were in your position in life, I know I wouldn't be able to accomplish half of what you have let alone be working so hard to accomplish more. What I'm saying is, you're stronger than me.'
I quietly thanked him and rushed away to happy cry to myself lmao. One of two times my dad said he was proud of me.
Usually, the strongest people are not the ones who realize they are strong.

Personally, I had all kinds of guys messaging me, or trying to their best to talk to me while I was working, I ignored them, I wasn't mean, but still, they wanted something I wasn't willing to give.
Literally only 1 comment stood out and floored me.
"You have the most raw, natural beauty I've ever seen"
This took me completely by surprise because:
A. His extremely refined wording.
B. Someone took the time to notice that I am anti makeup, instead of seeing a pretty face and moving on to oogle the body.
No, I didn't give in to it. We didn't start anything romantic.
But the compliment still struck me.

Actually! The most flattered I've *ever* felt was when I was out salsa dancing with my gay friends and this one woman was staring at me and ran up to me and was all like "I've been watching you all night! you're so sexy!!!" she was hot and looked like j lo and I looked like literal trash because I thought we were going to a college bar.
