It causes minor stuff ups all the time. I swipe to text but don’t always proof read my messages, especially if I’m in a hurry with a few things on my mind … which is most of the time.

Sometimes I read back after it’s sent and realise I sound like I don’t speak English at all.. something I’ve always been conscience about when speaking. Then, wham my texts take that all away in a couple swipes! Another thing, not sure if anyone else has this problem but my “in” becomes “on” or “if” becomes “of” all the time. Anyone know of a way to stop this apart from turning predictive off?

I just answered a friends message invitation with… you guys … and it came out as …you gods lmao

Got me wondering if anyone has gotten themselves or someone else into trouble texting because of predictive or even sending the wrong message to the wrong person?

Hahaha did you do that on purpose?

Is this Gobby reborn?

No, it was never intentional. The only times my handset played up was with her.

For example, when we first met, I asked her out and she gave me her number. Moments after parting, I discovered that the number didn't save! Such a hiccup has never happened before or since. It took months before we bumped into each other again.

Yes, it is I. 😄

Welcome back and stay clean 😜

Well… someone/thing was trying to tell you something there then.

I gave up writing texts or emails in a foreign language using my iPhone. Each word seemed fine after I wrote it, only to be changed into some abomination a sec later.

The predictive text was a nightmare in another context too….because of the pandemic, we have to record the lectures for students. So far so good, but each video has to be accompanied by a transcript. The thing is, we teach science, but the software that translates spoken word into text wants none of it! Most of the words are changed into something else. Probably the most annoying one for me, is when “gene” becomes “Jesus” 😲

Hmmm….I’ve been waiting for 7 years to ask my long distance crush for a date, during late 2019. Soon after, it became clear that a pandemic has started, and the country went into lockdown. Was someone/thing trying to tell me something…? 🤔

It has to be the phones because I've swiped messages saying one thing and the swipe or voice to text features have autocorrected it to say other than my message. Lol

I now try to make a habit of proofreading especially more important texts and emails.

Yeah I know it’s the phones, just thought there might be some random funny stories out there from incorrect wording
