I know what romance is to sags
It’s sex in the outdoors and in exotic locations 😅

i think romance is actively doing things the other person likes to do , showing interest in activities they like, taking part in their hobbies (and take turns doing it) it’s probably what kept our relationship going for 8 years. romance isn’t grand gestures though it sometimes can be, but it’s more in the simple things…
we’re in canada for xmas and my dude had me in the middle of a forest last week walking on some old, ancient ass bridge built in 1889 (i’m sure they done some renewal/maintenance work over the years but in my mind, i was like “😅😅” lol) and doing cliffwalks and treetop adventures and shit lol he’s the kinda dude who would easily spend an hour or two in camping gear shops, he loves the outdoors. i’m more of a beach person lol
but guess what, i had so much fun and wanna go again, in fact i might wanna go on a higher bridge/ cliff😆
but tonight though, he has to come see a hockey game with me even though he has zero interest in hockey lol

I find it romantic when they come back with gift or mail letters cards from far away. Sneaking in cute notes and stuff in my lunch bag. Picking up something yummy to share. Planning our next adventure. Warming up my perpetually cold icicle hands.
My idea of romance to bf: randomly bring cigars, wine, and crab cakes. Run off somewhere random to explore when we are out, treat him to golf and dinner. Provide gentle affection: head scratches, back rubs, cuddles, kisses on forehead, cover him with blanket. Run him over with my car, raise my back hand. Make a something that takes a lot of time and effort.

One time, I seen a couple walking hand and hand down the street. The guy stops to instead link arms together with his lady, and the look on their faces were that of two people who were happy being together and proud to be seen with the person next to them.
I remember thinking how beautiful that simple display of affection was, and how it must feel to be adored by the one you're with. That to me, was romantic.
To be venusian and not know what this feels like for myself makes me laugh through the pain. 😅

There seems to be an element of darkness in most romantic media. Romeo & Juliet ultimate sacrifice was a suicide pact, Love Actually has a subplot stolen from A Short Film About Love which is basically stalking, Lady Chatterley - an affair and that's not to mention stuff which is rapey.
