We went to dinner in the country and then ended up in Springfield at a poker game ... I had lots of fun. Thanks !!!

That picture just brought the biggest smiles to my face! Reminds me of my cats when they aren't fighting each other.

Where is there poker in Springfield? My boyfriend and I used to go out to Charlestown to the casino quite a bit, and we would do some poker there. We had to stop going for a while though because roulette was becoming a little addictive... hah.

I'm glad you had a great time though! Especially with all of this crap weather we've been having.

And thank you so much! I'm doing pretty well. The only downsides are that I've been pretty tired lately. I wouldn't mind having a spring break again to escape from adult life for a little, but I'm still having a fun. I spend a lot of my time out in Chantilly/Herndon now because I teach dance classes out there now 🙂

Here some suggestions:

Well, when I was a kid my mom used to buy these delicious treats that I loved so much, I would eat them all if she let me. Last night I found out what they were, and they are a French pastry. So, my plan is to set out today and try and find a French bakery. Which might be hard in the US.

Tonight, our friends are having a big poker game ... but, my husband told me it's actually a birthday party for me. So much for a Virgo keeping a secret. I'm not real social, as you know, so a party for me is really too much for me to handle and I don't really want to go. My natural instincts would have me trying to blend into the wall.

But, I got a timeline on my life expectancy on Wednesday, and as it turns out this will be my last birthday ..... apparently my husband and one of our good friends orchestrated this, and he will pay dearly for it later. He knows that I don't do people very easily.

Anyway, I'm sure there will be lots of goodies there to eat, so I might as well throw caution to wind, forget that I'm a diabetic and eat sweets to my hearts content. 🙂

yeah, sin a little. no need for a shock.

My mother, when she had cancer, accepted invitations but after dinner she urged to leave. Even if the entourage has a hard time with these cancer news, at the end of the day the person who sits in the front row has the word. You'll leave when it is too much for you.

Let them drive around and find the pastry. Sweet memories for later.

Yes and no.

Yes, I ate so much chocolate, and sugar that even I had a sugar rush, and that rarely happens since I'm a diabetic and can tolerate massive sugar (that's why I never get drunk)

No, I didn't find the French pastries. I watched a video on youtube and they look easy enough to make. I might buy the ingrediants and try to get my husband to make them for me. Except, I'm a perfectionist and there's no way a person can measure up to the task I put before them.

I had a great time. And yes, Cheeky, I did play poker ...... didn't win though. Half way through the game I had to lay down. That happens to me all the time. The doc said it would. I just have to lay down and close my eyes. I can't manage myself otherwise.

All in all, I had a fantastic birthday and thanks to everyone who wished me happy.
