heard water + fire dims down the fire?

that's why you have to have alot of water.
if someone has alot of water, they will destroy fire.
that's why astrologers say no to water =/= fire.
but maybe what you're experiencing is someone with only water sun, and the rest of their chart is airy.
so they seem airy fairy anyway cause they have moon, mars venus jupiter in air.
