the women I've been with who were very promiscuous, just seemed to have high libido (a good thing IMO) and were looking for some/any form of intimacy at the time....But they'd also been in LTRs at various points throughout their life so...

One thing they all had in common was some form of sexual abuse in their past, which they say can be a catalyst for promiscuity in some....Given how high the incidence of sexual abuse is, that just makes the behavior all the less surprising or offensive....

I'm not built the same way, but on some level I also definitely envy people who are promiscuous and fantasize about being that way....

If I remember correctly, I think I've read a summary of at least one study correlating higher number of sexual partners with greater likelihood of either infidelity or divorce, but that also could easily be attributed to other factors, and ultimately doesn't bother me either....Looking back, I'm glad every relationship I've ever been in, has ended at some point - even if it was through infidelity, that was probably just what it needed at that time to actually be over...

The past always matters and I guess it'll be the type of 'fuck boy' (and girl) we're talking about. I've known one that just couldn't give in to temptation. Known one that is highly suggestable on drugs and alcohol. Known one that just plain out fucks out of loneliness and boredom even though she's with someone and finally (There's probably more types but this is all I know) the ones that just fuck because they can and they are single.

Out of all of them the last one I wouldn't have a problem with dating. Sure people can change and I've seen it happen but personally I'd rather just not take that risk if I'm genuinely interested in them.

The word you all are looking for is lothario which is defined as “a man who behaves selfishly and irresponsibly in his sexual relationships with women,” as it refers to the character of a man too. Promiscuity is a trait that both decent and indecent person can possess in this day and age.
