Haven't met him; yet. If you're not familiar with me I am the one that reads tea leaves (coffee cup); mine. I SAW him in my coffee cup; saw a turtle (tortoise; telling me of "patience"), saw a bull (Taurus -- He WILL be Taurus; I guarantee you), saw a guardian angel looking over me as I slept, saw me and the guy kissing and spooning; as well as the male organ (I am in trouble!) 😈
In my heart I KNOW I will meet him as I am closing in on the third month {March} (3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months); since I've been known that the number "3" holds a significance in the mystical physic world. I have EVEN dreamt about him; and have YET to see him face-to-face. I CAN say I have fallen in love TWICE; once in middle school; and once in high school and it hasn't happened a third time (see the pattern?). But it does happen for others -- and I am "patiently" waiting.

And really, a lot in the limerence link has overlap with not just what most people feel when they fall in love (the term is actually used more recently to just describe the obsessive phase of love, though some still use it to refer to "obsessive love disorder"), but with one of the most extreme soulmate narratives on the market these days - twin flames. So I'm interested to hear what you think are the clues that one has found their soulmate.

Since people change and evolve, I believe it's rare to find a true soulmate. But, I do believe in the one who is right for me and will grow and change with me. There are different people for different stages of life and if 2 people can't grow together, it becomes one-sided and people may fall back on initial passion and chemistry to keep afloat... But no substance.
I believe also that a person needs to have substance in order to find and attract something sustainable.

I described my feeling upon meeting mine below the other post.
obsessive is intrusive and thats something that doesnt belong in this kind of relationship. I consider him a lot, is more like it.
The relationships is def not always about roses though, it taught me a LOT! About myself, about my flaws, what Im willing to accept and what to let go in the name of love.
He makes me a better person like literally and very much cliche so * I cringe saying this its so cliche haha*
The main thing for me, just like our first meet, is that he instantly makes me feel secure, at ease *with myself *, calm...I dont doubt our life together for 1 second
On feeling calm, etc., not minimizing your experience at all, but a lot of people who feel they've met their soulmates feel an overwhelming type of energy exchange, and it does cause anxiety for them. That's where I think the overlap with limerence symptoms comes in.
I also think "obsessive" gets a bad wrap, associated with being crazy or stalking and such, but really it just refers to a type of thinking that consumes a lot of time, might interrupt normal thought processes, change your focus or priorities, etc. It might be hard *not* to think about the person, etc. All that is very common even across cultures when falling in love. Obsession of this form is considered one of the universal phases of romantic love.

I'm so happy and excited for you Eva!!
the only time I've had that soul mate connection, i noticed him out of the corner of my eye skirting to the backroom slyly. we both couldn't help but peep at each other thru the make window til i asked my friend who worked with him, "Who is HE?" i can't explain the deep connection i had with him over the next 5 years or so but I've never experienced anything like it and i hope I'm lucky enough to find it again. i also hope he has found it as well...
