You can criticise someone for his bad actions, but you cannot make fun and insult when the topic is irrelevant for that.

This kind of behaviour is uncivilised and lacks dignity.

The right to insult others is an unspoken one, but there nonetheless. It's a judgement call. Let your conscience be your guide.

I have the right to say anything I want to you, but my moral foundation governs my words and actions. I do not expect to be forgiven, accepted or understood, but I do have the free will to speak my mind. What you do with it is entirely up to you. Not to mention that the right NOT to speak is just as important.

This is BS IMHO. Here in Turkey you can say anything you want UNLESS it's insulting someone on personal level.

And as far as I see from your reply, you mean that person can insult anyone even on personal level and that person has no legal right to defend himself. This is kinda BS.

More mature individuals would discuss the original intent, read between the lines, step in the other person's shoes, etc. Most personal insults are only defended against if believed.

If you believe that what has been said about you on this board is true, you have the right to defend yourself, of course. Or you can stoop to the level of the insulter.

Yes, maybe laws of your country give you the right to speak in any form/way you wish with a particular person in front of you. My country doesn't, but I still respect that fact of yours and move on silently.

Also, as you have mentioned earlier, it is our moral standarts that allow you speak with a person on a particular "standart" level of speech which means no insulting/trespassing on personal level etc. My personal "standart" level is using objective words without curses or insults to person in front of me. That is my normal level. But I can change it according to the agressor. I don't like to change it either, but I don't want to stand silent when I can do something and I take my revenge.

But, if we start to insult here with non stop curses, then what kind of place this board will become? I can't see any other way of making any civilised comments, advises when certain "standart" level of behaviour isn't acheived. And if we want to use this place as a discussion board, then being in forum with full of agression and insult isn't the way of acheiving that goal. If the person doesn't want to obide to certain rules of speech then I call this behaviour uncivilsed and lack of dignity. Such people don't have any positive value for me because they are already immature in their ways. How can they show you when they don't have their own?

Back when my mother and step-father were dating, the first few times there were some very heated arguments. They laughed about this afterwards; after the silence; course they were facing each other at the time.

You are talking about "seeing another side of the medallion". I know it Ladydane. From time to time I give signals to people to make them see the other part of the medallion. Therefore, I don't think that I see the world with my single eye. But people aren't going that way. Sometimes I don't too. For Qbone there is no much chance since I know his personality and I don't have any reason to forgive him. He doesn't worth that....yet.
