Virgos and substance abuse.

I know 4 virgos very well. 2 females and 2 males. All are either in recovery or currently addicts/ alcoholics. Is this a coincidence or is it an issue this sign faces?

I only know one Virgo that has this tendency. He died of an overdose at age 19 or 20.

Meh .. if anything you could say the Pisces/Virgo axis relies heavily on an outlet of some sort. Doesn't have to mean drugs, but I've noticed this axis in particular HAS to have something to keep from overthinking/daydreaming

Virgo Sun here. If I drink I enjoy it, but not to excess. If I find that I'm drinking more than 3 times a week I'll refrain for a week or so. I don't think its anything particular about the sun sign. It's the individual's own personal experience that determines proclivity to abusing substances. I don't think it's inherent to a particular sign. Hope that helps.

I know a heroin addict, in and out of rehab for ten years. He's a Leo, but with Virgo ascendant and moon.

From my experience with Virgos (my best friend is a Virgo, my sister is a Virgo, my ex housemate and current housemate are Virgos, my ex boyfriend is a Virgo, and I was seeing two Virgo men in the past and know a few friends and acquaintances that are Virgos) and I believe that Virgos tend to substance abuse during the period where they are still trying to find themselves, or feel ungrounded, or is pressured by the social life/social expectations - but usually the main reason for them to abuse drugs, alcohol, is because it helps them cope with the anxiety and stress inside them during tough periods.

The addiction part comes with Virgo tendency to succumb to routines, and they tend to avoid seeking other ways of coping if they feel that what they're doing right now works (their philosophy is usually, I don't like trying new things because i don't know if I will like it and if this is efficient then why would i stop?)

But the thing is, this will most likely be a phase. Once they quit, they quit for good. (but may find other healthier alternatives but probably will abuse it with equal obsession such as excessive cleaning, working long hours, ect) All of the Virgos I know are completely clean of drugs and the way that they quit was to go cold turkey. Their resilience and self discipline is quite admirable (I wish I could be as disciplined).

This could apply for every other signs too, I'm not sure, but this is just my personal experience with having a lot of Virgos in my life! 🙂

I know some Virgos who have issues with alcohol. They can rely on alcohol and narcotics a bit too much in order to unwind. In fact every Virgo I know really likes to drink.

My brother has four planets in Virgo (sun, moon, mercury and pluto.) He has never abused any kind of drug or alcohol. Ever.

An old friend who also has four planets in virgo has abused alcohol. He drinks excessively whenever he does drink, and he is not a nice drunk. He drinks less often than he'd like.

I have a Virgo moon, and have never done any drugs. I drink minimally. I can't stand how people become all stupid, and/or abusive when they're drunk. Funny or amorous drunks....

Another Virgo friend drank a lot in her younger days. Partied really hard too. Did a lot of weed and some other stuff. Now she does nothing.

I like to drink especially when I'm going thru something. Probably because we over-think, restless and worry too much. I also tend to dwell a lot on my problems. Having libra moon and, scorpio in my pluto and saturn makes it even worse.

All virguys i Know have hard drugs problems. Virgals not that much
