I was a major fan of his in my early teens bc he was such a bully in his movies and I sort of adopted the same approach when dealing with school bullies or ppl I didn't like. Psychological torment is 75% of the battle..

I would also use aikido on my friends but that shit only works when ppl volunteer as victims lol.

But then I grew up and I realized he is basically like my crazy delusional Aries uncle lol

lmao haha. I remember seeing him in "Executive Decision", and not going to lie, he played his role well. However, I noticed he got killed off early, and the reason for that was people on set couldn't deal with him anymore. Apparently, the first day of rehearsal, he walked in and pronounced "I'm the boss, what I say is law" (or something along those lines), and one of the actors laughed at him (John Leguizamo). SS then proceeded to do an aikido elbow on him because he felt offended. Nonsensical violence, not to mention this strange god complex. I don't want to claim his Aries omg 😢

Do Aries have a problem with accepting their not so likable traits ?

3rd Aries post and I’ve noticed for quite some time that Some Aries will deny deny deny.

Oh that’s not me

I would never do that

I can’t claim that

There was an Aries gal who actually showed strength and vulnerability by saying, “bytch, I might be”

I don't think it's about that, no. A trait is a trait, and it can be expressed negatively or positively. SS just expresses it in the most negative, stereotypically terrible way- I wasn't denying the fact that Aries can have those tendencies, it's just dependent on the way it's conveyed due to a variety of factors (which include upbringing, genetics etc.). The point of this thread was to kind of make fun of ourselves in a light-hearted manner, it's not that deep.

his first movie is great and the rest of his movies were okay up to the mid 90s

Under Siege II I thought was passable. I think most of the big 80s action stars had their share of cack. Van Damme (Streetfighter - nobody will convince me it is a camp classic or so bad it's good, it's grade a bad), Arnie (Junior, Batman and Robin - I actually like Jingle All The Way and I think time has been kind to Last Action Hero), Stallone (Judge Dredd).

I agree

I didn't watch many of seagal's movies tbh, but I know in the early 90s this shit was new so it was more palatable and he didn't look bored while moving his arms around.

street fighter is horrible franchise exploitation. I don't think van damme really has any good movies except double team which is an alien artefact

Arnie is actually better in the less serious movies like batman, jingle all the way etc...

Judge dredd was actually good, best stallone's movie for me after demolition man, but I don't really like him or his movies

Nice to hear a different perspective. Hard Target with Van Damme is pretty decent, but no masterpiece same for Kickboxer and JCVD is fun, but stretches one joke too far. Also Universal Soldier may be riding Terminator's coattails, but its solid enough.

Judge Dredd I found really disappointing after seeing some of the comics. Bad acting and boring. Dredd finally did what it should have been.

Yes I'm not a fan of the comics. It's probably disappointing if you are.

I just took it as a goofy 90s action movie and even though it was not a very good movie, even by those standards, I liked the fact that it was rather original and more sci-fi than the aveage action movie. And Stallone was pretty much perfect for the role.
