How to Recognize a Husband Material Man

A husband material man is dependable, honest, respectful, and committed to growth. He shows good communication, emotional maturity, and prioritizes your well-being. Traits to avoid include irresponsibility, dishonesty, and lack of respect. These qualities indicate readiness for a long-term, committed relationship leading to marriage.

Lets not get fickle over the term.

Basically I wanna know what makes a man the RIGHT man. One with the best intentions for you and your relationship and the type of commitment that leads to marriage.

Make a list of the attributes/characteristics that you reckon this man possesses.

You can also list what he is NOT, if this is all you have experienced.

He respects me

He doesn't take advantage of me

He is fully committed /invested

He has a job/career-that pays

Sex life will be fulfilling-He has to have an open mind.

He has to be able to communicate too. I'm a very big communicator, able to easily move from "if we ever break up" to "when we get married" in one sentence lol

I love guys that are sweet but don't show emotions, just naturally caring. Kind of detached with emotions to everyone else except their spouse, because that's how I am.

Make sure the guy is ready for marriage.

A lot of women waste their time with good men who simply aren't ready yet.

Interesting, bit of a catch 22. So how would one know a good man, that is ready? By just asking?

Agreed! But i'm sure MANY women ask where the relationship is headed...

FYI this isn't about myself. Seeking opinions and experiences.

Husband material?

It's relatively simple...

I will have to trust him with my life....

....and near death.

Every other trait is just simply "lets just stick to being in a relationship."

I've learned something in this after 35 dating world. If you want it, you actually have to have the balls to take it. Men who expect women to just lay down for them aren't going to win her.

Respect.

Respecting your wishes. Respecting how/who you are.

And if he constantly makes you laugh. I've learned that someone who tries and succeeds at making you laugh when your sad, most likely wants the best for you.

It's the little things I've noticed, for me anyways.

Why do people want to get married anyways? Why isn't taking things day by day and committing to one another enough?

Is a government piece of paper really that important?

Does it have to do with tradition or culture?

I don't really care about marriage as long as I know that you're mine and I'm yours and we're in this for as long as we can go.

Well l'm gonna tweak the question slightly and say that your 7th house is how you see your man. Aries : as a fierce warrior, Taurus, as a beautiful and calm man, Gemini, as a quick-wited, fun, good-looking...Cancer, as a family, cheerful and great with kids...etc..

Now that I have met someone who is actually marriage material the idea scares the shot out of me. My only big hang up about him is that he has had a vasectomy and I want to have another child later. He knows this and I tried to cut things off after our second date but he insisted we try to see what happens.

But now I like him. I know we have to have the conversation again soon though because I thought about it again this week. But other than that I could see myself marrying him. He is an Aqua (my 7th house) he is very stable, a lot calmer than me, caring and jus feels so familiar like we have been together for a while but I have only known him since April we aren't even in a relationship yet just exclusive.

I'd almost be willing to have my own baby later on in life using a sperm bank if we got married, but should I have to go out of my way like that for someone? My Saturn return is coming this year in my 5th house it's not even here yet and I am dealing with life decisions on children and romance. It is gonna be an interesting few years.

No such thing as "husband material" every persons wants and needs are different. But a start would be him proposing.

Well I'm not sure I want to do it again. The you "just know " did not work for me twice. Thing is most important things:

Willing to work with you as a partner, compromise, to solve problems - everyday ones & the big ones

Cares what you want & supports you in your endeavors

Listens

Doesn't get scared by your emotions

Wants to be close, not necessarily emotional but willing to share, and show you that you matter

These are the things that sometimes get lost when life is busy, kids, careers, other stuff. Keep each other a focus & always do date night!

Thanks for your input, it definately makes a major difference to hear from someone who has been there and knows what was missing.

i might just start listening to my parents. they are always for practical signs, good job, education, humble, not wearing military wardrobe if he is not in the military (ma father says it's a major red flag), mother like them pretty, educated family, non divorced parents blabla. at least for experiment.

Sorry can you clarify on the not wearing military wardrobe part? I didnt get you...

Re Practical signs-This is definitely one route to take and goes with the head over the heart right enough.

What made my husband "the one" with no doubt is he made every effort to show me I was a priority, important, the love of his life. Honestly he made me question why I ever put up with any of the crap I did with past relationships so early. We've been married two years, and he still makes every effort to show me how important I am to him.

Stable, stoic, loyal, calm less emotional than me. Driven ambitious. Honorable. Protective. Someone I feel safe with 🙂

I have this theory men are never happy in life unless they feel honorable.

Smart. Good convo.

And we are crazy for each other. 🙂

He was husband like

even as my boyfriend.

All of his actions and

his character are very

trustworthy and real.

He showed protection.

Affection, responsibility.

Stubborn and powerful.

Tenderness and caring.

He was everything that

I loved as my boyfriend.

He had the strength to

tame me in many ways

without trying really.

He shows me respect and treats me with dignity always. He always backs me up and listens to what I say. He can talk to me about more than just how his day was, we can have long conversations about everything. He gives me space and time to develop my own existence and is not emotionally needy (basically he can take care of himself). There's more, surely, but this is what pops to mind first...

If the smell of his dried semen on your hair, clothes or sheets dun't make you gag, he's the one.

see, it's things like this that really make me wonder what the hell is wrong with you. are you a character or a troll just looking for shock value/ attention? this is too much. i mean if you're a whore in real life, it's not my place to judge. but there are kids here on this site. reel it in just a bit. we dont need or want to know every seedy detail.

It was a factual statement! Research has shown that there's a certain type of pheromone in male and female reproductive juices, and if you are aroused by or think your partners juices smell ok, y'all's bodies were meant for each other or something.

If the man you're dating has the list of things that make a husband material.

Does your husband material list work as a wife material list too? Or is that a completely different list?

Do you consider yourself to be wife material?

Would you change your ways to become wife material?
