I wear makeup and do up my hair and stuff because it feels good, but underneath all of that, I understand the reason underneath it all is sex appeal, being more attractive to the opposite sex. I like to be more attractive to men, and the world in general (men and women) receives you differently when you are made up and dressed nicely than when you aren't. I look at it as enhancing what I already have, as opposed to however the OP worded it (self hatred or so). I don't see anything wrong with wanting to be more attractive to men, at the same time though, the argument for not doing it makes sense for people who believe that, and I don't think that's wrong either.
That said, I find that when I am in full makeup and dressed up and stuff, I do get noticed, but if I go out somewhere, I get less attention, every time, than when I go out somewhere say, after work, with little to no makeup and my glasses on and my hair stiff up in a bun or something, dressed like a stage hand (all in black with black belt and pants/shoes etc). Every time. Or if I just put on "mom jeans" and a sweatshirt and do a little bit with my hair and face, every time this yields more results (and I often do not want it to).
Maybe something to be said for that (or maybe it's cos I am earth). less is more

This what I love about women!!! I actually APPRECIATE those beauties who take so much time to dress like a pin up bc it makes THEM feel sexy. Props to the women out there who take the time to put their best foot forward, whatever that means to them. Im simply lazy LOLOLOLOL so Im getting laser hair removal FOR MYSELF. Bc I HATE how dark and thick my hair is naturally in places I dont want it. And I do days where I go completely barefaced (aside from grooming my brows and some mascara) to give my face some free time from makeup. I like makeup but I HATE how much of my life is spent grooming bleh... thats the only reason I dont do like eyeliner every damn day.... I would just rather be doing other things with that time. But shit, every woman should do what makes her feel best. I dont get peoples obsession with cramping other peoples style .... jealousy is all I can come up with....
Edit: this is not to say women who do not shave nor wear makeup are any less by any means. Beauty shows through comfort and confidence in oneself, no matter what theyre wrapped in. I find the myriad of women in general very beautiful bc I think all the same is very boring.

I stopped shaving in 2016 and never went back. I'm off that hamster wheel. I just dont see the point and realized how bamboozled I was by marketing. No more Brazilians either. I quit my job in 2016 and cut out all unnecessary spending and decided I liked that life style .

Apparently the new movement is if you do these things you are a self hating woman giving into the corporate machine and not accepting yourself. Also only trying to please men.
It's weird you can't do anything these days without being tied to other people. Funny thing is I never thought about other people when I started doing any of these things. I usually only do things because of myself that makes me feel good. I don't really ever think how other people would view that ( Leo moon *shrugs * )
I understand if you are very animal rights driven and want to use products that are cruelty free or shaving is a annoyance and hurts you. But no one says you have to do it.

Pfft!! I shave because I just like the way legs and arms look and feel without hair. As for make-up, I wear a lil to accentuate my features, never to mask my face or transform into someone I look nothing like.
I wouldn’t go bare down there simply because I like some hair there and I just don’t like the look of it completely bare. Something infantile about it to me.

I look like a gorilla if I dont shave. I shave for me because I dont like that much bodyhair on me. In the wintertime tho, it can give an extra layer of warmth but often it wont last long cause it bothers me.
As far as makeup goes, I use as bare minimum as possible. I prefer the natural look makeup... so nothing over the top. Usually eyeliner, mascara. During daytime a light smokey eye, nights out will be a darker, more intense smokey eye. During daytime, a natural lip pencil with lipbalm and for nights out, a classy reddishpink lip pencil with lipbalm.
I do whatever work on me for me. Same with clothes.
