Target Finish date - Sunday, May 17th, 2020 ( The day I graduate)
Starting Weight- 172.4lbs
Target Weight / Body Fat Percentage - 122.4lbs (20-25 percent body fat)
Weight Loss and or Body Fat Percentage Loss - 50lbs ( 20-22 percent fat loss)
My mutual goal is to knock out these final 8 classes and finally obtain my Bachelor's degree too by the way!
I'm really close to my goal. I've dropped 50 pounds, and just need to lose a bit more to be 100% healthy for my height. I started at 270, and down to 220.
Are you bulking too?

Nope. Pretty much just what I get from the physical labor at work. I want to be more on the slim side because there is a lot of working on my knee's and on ladders. Also a lot of tight spaces and stretching that makes it hard to move around. You still need a decent muscle mass and especially good stamina to be able to work with tile every day though. I pretty much use work as a gym, and just dieted. I removed all the fastfood and high carb stuff, and also sugary drinks and went to fish, steak, vegetables, fruit, and water/ tea. I do cheat every now and then though lol. I just make sure I keep it at a minimum.
Yall can see my progress over the years in my pics! I was 200lbs when I moved to Cali like 5 years ago now. I got down to like 125-130lbs after adding jogging to my yoga. Then January I torn my LCL so I have been jogging less. I am at 145 now, not bad but I want to be more defined. I still have some problem areas that Im tightening up but for the most part, its working as long as Im not too lazy LOL I have started to take my dog jogging again recently, but I cant go quite as far as Id like yet. I want to have my upper arms, upper thighs and lower belly back to shape by my birthday in 2020.
I've lost 19 ibs so far as of last week. I havent weighed myself yet this week tho since I was bad over the weekend and this week lol. I don't want to put my current weight yet but I have a goal of 7 ibs by the end of October. Not my ultimate goal but I find I do better with little goals.
The hardest thing for me is giving up alcohol.
If I were back at home in CA and not in school I could easily give it up for the next 9 months or so.
It's going to be hard here in Philadelphia though especially because I have a lot of writing to do these next semesters.
Wine helps me get my ideas down.
Damn

i have a torn acl and meniscus which impacts my ability to do a lot of high-calorie burning exercises/
i used to workout out on a pretty consistent basis before that which i show i maintained my good enough wait of 135.
for my height i'm supposed to be somewhere between 118-150.

I had the same problem. Except a bit worse because it was spiced rum mixed with cola. I went to white rum and sometimes mix it with diet Sprite, or just drink it straight.

I honestly don't have time for that lol. I work full time and live alone, so when it comes to cleaning some things are going to have to take one for the team. I consider dishes, and cleaning the toilet/ sink more important then laundry. Even sweeping the floor. Laundry doesnt really matter to me. My clothes go from the floor, to the washer, to the dryer, to a basket not folded, to my body, then back to the floor. A basket would make sense, but I tend to wear the same shirts or pants assuming they didn't really get dirty to procrastinate laundry as long as possible, so even when put into a basket its only a matter of time till they are back on the floor all over the place.

Oh yea. I change my socks and underwear daily lol. Shirts and trousers aren't as big of deal to me.
i've been trying to lose 6 lbs for about a year now.
i'm giving up. i realise i can lose it but i won't keep it off. i say embrace the muffin top. i'm going to look to increase my strength rather than worrying about losing fat.

what are you doing to lose weight? and when do you weight yourself to get the most accurate weight? i haven't been working out tbh ill probably do it in the weekend

I thought I responded to this but apparently I didnt. Lol
I have been taking Tae Kwon do for over 2 years but in May 2018 I was heavy so I start from there. I didnt get serious about loosing till Dec of 2018 because of a cruise I took in Aug sooo since that high May weight I have lost 23 ibs. Most of which I lost between Jan and now. I also walk 4 miles around my neighborhood on most weekends but I dont do it every weekend cause summer was fucking hot and if I didn't wake up by 8am then forget it. I walked once at around noon and almost killed myself. But I only go to TKD twice a week and walking at night during the week after work is hard since it starts to get darker earlier now and mosquitos sooo I decided to join the gym so I could work out during the week when I dont go to TKD and if I want to go the weekends too in the AC. Plus my friend is starting back up so we can go together. Her son is training to be a firefighter so he is getting really into fitness(he's 20) so last night he was like our personal trainer lol. Cause TKD is awesome but it's mostly cardio and kicking so I can work more on my upper body at the gym. 😊
I could stand to lose about 20 lbs but I have such a hard time restricting my food intake. I'm a bulk eater and love food. I'm always just stable at my current weight. It doesn't go up or down. I need to exercise more though. That would help a lot but I just work too damn much and am lazy with it.
Thought I would motivate you all a little

Na, I cant stand dirty dishes. Doing the dishes is also really relaxing to me for someone reason. I'll just put on some wireless headphones and listen to music or YouTube. Having dishes in the sink when I want to prepare food, or even just wash my hands is a pet peeve of mine lol.

I just got my black belt this summer. The owners wife asked me the other day if I was going to go for my 2nd Dan. I said I'd like too but wasnt 100% sure yet. I really do want to because most people do stop once they get their 1st black belt and I think it says more about a person's commitment if they go further than that. I do enjoy the classes, but the cost for the black belt training and the test is very high, like over $ 700 and other schools dont charge that high.
I also want to take krav Maga, but I need to build up my upper body strength b4 I do that.
I am down under 140lbs!!! Yeaaay!!! I still have a ways to go to really tone up my problem areas, but I look and feel sooooo much better... still doing intermittent fasting and yoga! Need to get back to jogging tho...

Pretty much. I mean I've always known since I took Karate when I was a kid and had a lot of boyfriends who encouraged me to walk around with knives on me at all times but I'm more confident about it now as an adult. Krav Maga teaches you more about how to get out of situations like that then TKd does tho.

I actually need to start doing this. I can manage 30 minutes a few times a week. I think the weight would drop off quickly if I did this.
I like this thread but I don't have weight loss goals, I have strength gain goals. Trying to get back to how I felt before my accident.
Currently at a 20 min continuous swim and need to get back to 60mins. Giving myself till next may to hit that goal.

As long as you can work in some sort of consistentcy, its amazing what just 30min of working out can do. Its a great step anyway if you really want to add fitness to your life. Its all about time management and self discipline. I am lacking in both departments LOL BUT Im trying lol. Its hard to make yourself do something you dont necessarily enjoy. Thats why I had to find something I didnt mind doing. High intensity training may be great! But i hate it and I wont do it lololol yoga I gave a chance and luckily fell in love, so it isnt as hard to motivate myself to do it. Depression is a big hurdle for me. As long as I just make myself do it, I ALWAYS feel better afterwards. And it really has almost completely reset my body back to my target weight. My biggest difficulty is jogging. I had myself up jogging almost 2 mi last year when I tore my LCL. Now it is even more difficult to make myself go when I have to baby it a bit. The yoga also helped rehab my knee so it is pretty much back to normal. I just gotta be careful with impacts. I hope you can find something you like to work in!! Your body will thank you for it. Now I just got to get better about eating... I dont hardly ever eat when Im working, yet doing intermittent fasting, I only have an 8 hr window to eat each day.... and most of that time is spent working! Anywhooooo... cant wait to hear what you decide on! There is so much out there from belly dancing to bodybuilding....
How is it going for you @Adreamuponwaking ? Progress? Setbacks?
Lol the furthest progress I made was making this thread.
Right now I'm literally in survival mode. The last few weeks have been challenging.
People tell me my face is much less chubby and my beard started growing, don't know if that is relevant. I am eating thunawraps instead of croissants. I found some hyped indian health drink called ragi malt that satiates me pretty strongly. Its supposed to have lots of Health Benefits.
Apprently there are lots of great recipes outside of Europe that make the struggles of weight loss almost go away. I am obsessed with fusion food. Tomorrow I'll add roasted chickpeas.
Ok what do you guys think anout this
Intermittent fasting n metformin
I’m about to self medicate with metformin
Just saw this. Metformin is for diabetics. If you have PCOS then it is an option as well.
I have pcos so they put me on metformin. It made me sick to my stomach.
If you want a natural alternative to metformin then try "Berberin" 500 mg. 2 a day. It is the natural metformin and doesnt upset your stomach. I started taking this and I did notice a difference. I have been off of it for a while cause I'm horrible at taking pills but I am going to start getting back on it. It takes about a month to start noticing the effects tho so if you do do it then dont give up on it after a week.
Metformin is a prescription. How are you going to get it?
My cousin is a doctor in Mexico
But I’ll try to get it from my own
Been told have insulin resistant in past n diabetes runs in family

I re-downloaded MyFitnessPal and have been using it for a week now! Lost one kg but this PMS is making it hard, I binged yesterday 😵 (but still logged everything)
I wanna post a photo of my progress but idk what service to use anymore.... I'm about 140 lbs at my heaviest, size 4... but I have some very stubborn areas. Unfortunately, I did a lot of damage over the years neglecting my health so it is taking quite some time for the really fatty areas to go back to normal. Luckily, mostly everything has! But my tummy and thigh fat hang on for dear life!!!! They feel like separate entities now lol. Anyway, I'm still pushing and almost where I want to be!!! I'm so happy and proud of myself for turning it around from 200lbs.
