What are you doing for yours?
Even some of my American friends have families there and it might be a "convenient trip"?!?
My European friends travel a lot and it might also be exciting for them.
I don't know... I keep thinking of this being a good idea. ?
I really want to go to Peru and visit Machu Picchu before the close it from the public!! ?
What about you?!?! ?

Posted by Infinite8What time of year could you go there. It sounds so amazing though. Had a friend who went and raved so much as to how amazing and beautiful it is. That's the thing with Peru, I don't think I'd be able to go for my exact birthday (early November) because it's raining season ?

Posted by AnotherTaurusGuyDitto! Sometimes it's a compliment and sometimes I'm like, "Dude, can I have my drink now?" 🍹 One day a girl asked her co-worker to come over, "Hey, come here! Check out her age!"
Quite a mix of ages here. I'm in my 30s but still get asked for ID when buying booze in supermarkets and sometimes in bars. I like to kid myself that it is because I look so young.

Posted by Infinite8I think that's likely so about the benefits of the elevation and diet (nice to know that you're aware of the benefits of high altitude -- not many people are).Posted by CopperDovePosted by Infinite8My father's partner is Peruvian. Omg... 103 yrs old!! Hmmm... I'm wondering if Peruvians (brought up in Peru) have longer life span due to the elevation & diet?!?!
Is the 103yr old lady still energetic? This reminds me of my friends grandfather... he was in his early 90's and he was seriously trying to court me ?. The family thought it was "cute" because he still had his mojo on... but I would literally run away from that man everytime I saw him. He was NOT cute to me! Uuuuggg... gross times...lol.
Anyway, point being - he behaved very young for his age ?
Have you ever been to Peru?!?! My whole family has gone except for me. I just here it's amazing. Plus, I love Peruvian food!!! ??

We figured that best time to go is September to mid October... so maybe I could pushi it and celebrate a bit early and maybe have a regular party at home (on day of). ??♀️ 😄

Posted by Infinite8Yes, I can see that about their diet. Also, higher altitude = higher CO2 which is good for health in many ways, including lung health.Posted by CopperDoveYes, people that are brought up in high altitudes usually have amazingly strong lungs. And as for the food, I have learned that Peruvians have the closest food pallette to their pre-historic ancestors (asians) as far as eating raw fish, rice as staple diet. Seems like this also really helps the life span ?Posted by Infinite8I think that's likely so about the benefits of the elevation and diet (nice to know that you're aware of the benefits of high altitude -- not many people are).Posted by CopperDovePosted by Infinite8My father's partner is Peruvian. I'd say that she's fairly energetic considering her age. She has to walk with a walker or cane, but most people, if they reach their 100s, are in wheelchairs it seems. She is having some memory problems now, but that's fairly recent.
Wow, impressive that the man was so lively, but yuck for his judgement given that you showed clear signs of disinterest -- sounds like he was immature despite his grand old age.
I haven't been to Peru, but my dad's partner owns a nice inn in a good area in Lima so I'd have a place to stay if I ever visited. I agree about the food! Hopefully you'll be able to go!
Just the fact that she's lived that long is quite an accomplishment and a strength in itself!
He was gross. Thought with his lowed head. And as my Colombian friend would say when she would see him interact with me, he was a "Viejo Verde"!!! Hahhahhaaa.... I would laugh everytime she would say that - basically describing him as ever-horny ?
I just found it ODD how his family defined that as cute and romantic. Not words I would have used... in the least. ?
