i think this scandal is here to avert our attention from the deeper heavier things going on in the world. when i was growing up, celebrities were not such a big part of every day life. now they are in almost every piece of news. they are all the time in our faces. meanwhile, what is really happening?

No they should of come out right away, but clearly the power was unbalanced. Now that Dickenson considers herself just as famous, all bets are off. She had to become a celebrity first then she could speak the truth.

Low (wo)man on the totem pole = nobody will care or listen. Not only does she have to suffer the consequences of what someone, who she trusted, did to her, but now she comes forward, only to be dismissed and told her experience is nothing? Because it's all mighty Bill Cosby? Someone everyone loves?

Yes, one could see why she would have hesitated and waited til she had more "power" in her corner to counter that.

The sad thing is that nobody is realizing how important it is that this is coming forward, as annoying as the media is making it by beating it to death. But fucked up shit like this happens all the time in Hollywood. It's just kept under wraps due to lots o money and politics.

The entire situation is classic sexual predator behavior. You have someone who's in "power" preying on someone who has less power. He sees a weakness that he can use to his advantage. He built a foundation of trust with these women, and then violates that trust, tossing them aside like garbage once he got what he wanted from them.

You're right, it does happen all the time but this should be treated no differently just because they have more limelight. It'd be one thing if it were one or two women crying wolf to get money (like that chick did with Kobe Bryant). But you have 20+ women coming forward. Money or not, this is clearly a serious issue that shouldn't be dismissed just because they're celebs. Women are women.

I do agree that "wtf were they thinking??" comes to mind in regard to going back to his room. But see point above about trust. When someone sees an individual like that as a mentor/father figure, I doubt they're thinking into murky territory like that. Especially with someone who had that warm, fatherly personality bit going for him.

i love the cosby show, i can watch it on YouTube. he is definitely very very talented.

if this did happen, i do feel sorry for the women.

Sometimes, us ladies are so harsh on eachother. I don't have daughters, but i have sisters and aunts, cousins, female relatives and while i know they would never go to a man's house like that, we don't know wht really happened to those women.

back in the day and even today, women are still afraid, they fear, because let's face it, women are really the weaker sex. I'm sorry but it's true. sure we need protection, but not every man out there is out to protect women. They see a woman who is dressed inappropriately in their eyes, so it makes it right? to go ahead and rape her?

sometimes, i wonder about our compassion to our own sex.

now if it was MUTUAL that's a different story.

maybe some of those women were lying, and it was Mutual. we don't know. we can't know. both parties are not going to be honest about what really happend unless there was an actual video taping of it all.

Date of Accusation – March 27, 2015

Welles claimed that she met Cosby when she was a little girl, due to the fact that her mother — who once considered him to be a friend — was a theatrical agent. “I once liked Cosby very much, but that has changed now,” Welles said.

According to Welles, in the mid-1960s when she was 17 her mother took her to the set of Cosby’s “I Spy,” where Cosby asked her for her number. Cosby then invited Welles to see jazz. The teen, who was auditioning for background singer jobs at the time, was “thrilled” by the invitation. At the jazz club, she ordered a Coke, and that “things began to become blurry” after she took a sip of it. Welles, who said that she didn’t remember leaving the club or driving anywhere, added that she woke up naked in an apartment where Cosby couldn’t be found. Welles went home and showered, she told reporters, and felt like she had sex. “I did not want to believe that a family friend would do that to me,” Welles told reporters at the office of attorney Gloria Allred.

Date of Accusation – Nov. 20, 2014

Renita Chaney Hill appeared alongside Cosby during the 1980s in his “Picture Pages” educational videos. He had scouted her when she was just a 15-year-old model and aspiring actress.

Hill spoke to CBS’s Pittsburgh affiliate KDKA about the alleged attacks and told KDKA reporter Ralph Iannotti that Cosby flew her to various cities, including New York and Atlanta. She said she wouldn’t see him during the day, but would go to his hotel room at night. She claimed the comedian gave her drinks she now believes were drugged.

“One time, I remember just before I passed out, I remember him kissing and touching me and I remember the taste of his cigar on his breath, and I didn’t like it,” Hill told KDKA. “I remember another time when I woke up in my bed the next day and he was leaving. Hill said she can’t know for sure if she was raped because she was unconscious. “It just felt weird to me, and I remember being in high school saying to him, ‘I’ll come see you, but I don’t want to drink because it makes me feel funny,'” Hill said. “And he would tell me that if I didn’t drink, I couldn’t come see him.” Hill says she came forward after hearing Cosby’s attorney criticize the other women who have already done so, and she is unapologetic about waiting so long. “No one wants to be associated with something like this, but the bottom line for me is that no one has the right to violate someone else, no matter who they are,” she said. “I don’t care how big they are or how the community sees them, it’s not right.”
