Well there are plenty of cannabis plants, the main difference between sativa and indica would be what they do to your body and how you feel afterwards, sativa would be like an energy drink, or a good nights sleep, coffee.
Indica on the other hand doesn't give you the energy levels, but it has really high THC levels, it helps you heal, helps you sleep, makes you want to eat, you relax more and so on. Even when people smoke weed you get similar effects like those i just described. Don't know for sure, but i think indica also is used as medical marijuana, because i don't think sativa could help people, unless they are low on energy or somthing, but they don't heal.
