who went and took advantage of the situation ISIS, where did Isis come from? IRAQ, who went in and destroyed IRAQ

AMERICA

i swear you people disgust me...i hate the West...full of bs and hypocrisy...it's so disgusting.

And if we didn't nothing about it then their problems would likely spread here, starting with terrorism in attack like France. Or something worse. If you hate the West so much then move East.

I don't understand why the US jumped on board immediately with the air strikes and not Russia.

Didn't ISIS *just* take down one of Russia's passenger planes not even two weeks ago?

The US is like that passive aggressive friend putting ideas in your head.....give you ideas.......just to see drama ensue.
Because Russia will lay waste to everything in its path.

The US will influence the French to "show restraint" to be sure potential allies (i.e. future terror cells able to be exploited for US purposes) aren't wiped out.
Russia could come in an obliterate this in one solid swipe.

I don't understand the restraint if this is a *legitimate* concern.
The US is too concerned with cultivating allies in the region for future operations..based around oil reserves.

Russia has oil and gives no fucks. It doesn't need "allies".

The US is too simply too busy trying to bring "freedom" to the region and not simply taking care of business.

Oh yeah.. and also, Russia and Syria are allies, so that complicates things regarding ISIS retaliation from r's standpoint.

France totally not fooling around right now. Hollande's speech in front of Parliament is scary to me.

"France will extend state of emergency by three months

Hollande says he will table a bill to extend the state of emergency in France by three months, and said the French constitution must be amended for crisis situations.

The constitution must allow dual citizens to be stripped of their French citizenship and barred from the country if they are a terrorism risk, he said.

Foreigners who present a security risk must be expelled faster, he added."
They should just bring back the guillotine - public executions only for terrorists.

I'm so sick of this shit.

Honestly, I think France will have time to mourn the dead in Syria, right now they wanna hit ISIS so damn hard. Better if Russia got involved in the fight against ISIS knowing that Russia would fuck them up.
Even if Russia joins the fight their "air strikes" are not going to defeat ISIS.

They have to hit ISIS from the ground.

Shias and Kurds have been doing this religiously but they dont have enough strength even with the limited strength they have somewhat stopped ISIS from progressing further into Lebanon.

Could you imagine if Russian/US troops hit the ground? It will force ISIS to go underground. They cant stand a chance against the direct confration against the Western forces.

Their only solution is go underground and then do random attacks here and there until the West leave them, then back out of their tunnels.

The only real way to defeat ISIS is by confronting them head to head. Segregate their militias so they cant go underground and once they are caught, kill them all!

Huh, sounds like a better plan. The air strikes would be in support of ground troops to continuously hammer the forces on the ground.

the governors are grandstanding. they have zero power over what refugees are brought into the country or not. that is the federal government's call.

as if there aren't terrorist cells sprinkled all over the country already just waiting for directives......which have nothing to do with syrian refugees who aren't even here yet. smh
Exactly. Got into a heated exchange(on the other person's part...he's an Aries lol) about this earlier. He's going off about safety yada yada and even tried to draw a comparison to the Klan going into a black neighborhood...in which I informed him that actually the Klan is illegal because they were banned by the 13th and 14th Amendments(the Enforcement Acts) of the Constitution...plus they're not refugees.

Also, the Governors' acts are indeed illegal as you suggested. Asylum is under Federal jurisdiction and is specifically under per view of the President because it fall under Foreign Policy.

The news reported that at least one of the terrorist was carrying a Syrian passport. So, I can see where they'd be worried that a terrorist could be posing as a refugee.

I observed three military duel rotor copters flying overhead earlier.. in an area about 400 miles from the nearest air force base.. That was a wtf moment. Quick Googling said they typically carry supplies, weapons, or troops.. This was an hour prior to the French retaliation and my location was eastern US. Hmm..

There's a reason why Syria is being fought over at the moment with millions of innocents being displaced from their homes and it mainly involves the US, Russia the Sunni Muslims and the Shiite Muslims.

You see, it's about the world's largest natural gas & condensate fields, South Pars & North Dome and the building of a gas pipeline to Europe ....surprise surprise...

The US are supporting the Sunnis pipeline which will go through Qatar - Saudi Arabia - Iraq - Syria - Turkey..... to Europe
Russia supports the Shiite pipeline through Iran - Iraq - Syria - Lebanon to Europe.

Either way, the pipeline needs to go through Syria.....and...

The US does not want Russia to strengthen its geopolitical influence in Europe .....therefore, it's all about powerful foreign government control over natural resources and nuetralizing opposing forces ( = money/power)
All these 'red flag' terror attacks are backed by the wealthy elite insiders to spread propaganda and fear into the general public the hide the truth behind these agendas
And they are willing to murder innocent people to continue this stupidity!

Why is it every time something like this happens, there's 1 person addressing the actual issue, and 3 others pointing blame on pretty much anyone or anything else but those DIRECTLY responsible. It's always viewed as some sort of half-justified retaliation for what we - the West - have done to "them".

Did US put ISIS on French soil? "It's Murica's fault bc of their involvmenet in Afganistan during the Cold War". YES, everything is connected in some way. It's historically significant, but hardly relevant.

Second raid happened tonight

We have more details of the French military airstrikes against Isis.

The French defence ministry has confirmed the raid, which occurred shortly after midnight GMT, according to AFP.

A total of 16 bombs were dropped from 10 Rafale and Mirage 2000 fighters, destroying a command centre and a training centre in Raqqa.

“Conducted in coordination with US forces, the raid was aimed at sites identified during reconnaissance missions previously carried out by France,” a statement from the ministry said.

So are they bombing training centres or towns?

I have no way of knowing.
New round of airstrikes against Isis

The French military dropped 16 bombs on Isis targets in the stronghold of Raqqa, hitting a command centre and a training centre, the country’s defence ministry said.

US strikes earlier hit 116 oil trucks in Eastern Syria, the first attack of its kind since US-led forces began targeting Isis in Syria.

Sunday night was the same, buildings considered to be training grounds and ammunition deposits.

US strikes hit 116 oil-hauling trucks in Syria

In an attack which was the first of its kind since US-led forces began airstrikes in Syria, US warplanes have destroyed 116 oil-hauling trucks in eastern Syria that were a key part of a smuggling operation that brings the group an estimated $ 1.4 million a day, the AP reports.

The trucks were clustered near Abu Kamal, a town close to the Iraqi border. US officials previously had said they avoided attacking fuel trucks out of concern for civilian casualties.

Navy Capt. Jeff Davis, a Pentagon spokesman, said that in an effort to warn the truck drivers to leave the area in advance of Sunday’s attacks, leaflets were dropped and coalition planes conducted low-level “show of force” flights over the site.

Davis said the coalition had determined that more needed to be done to inhibit the Islamic State’s generation of oil revenues in Syria and Iraq.

The Treasury Department said last year that the group earned nearly $ 1 million a day from illicit oil sales; the Pentagon believes that sum has risen to nearly $ 1.4 million a day. Since the earliest days of the U.S.-led bombing campaign, some parts of the Islamic State’s oil infrastructure have been attacked, but the effort is now intensifying.

“This part of it was designed to attack the distribution component of Isil’s oil smuggling operation,” Davis said, referring to attacking the fuel trucks. “Isil is stealing oil from the people of Iraq and Syria to fund its campaign of terror.”

The US secretary of defense says the most immediate Isis threat to the US is of a “lone wolf” style attack, Reuters is reporting.

In his first public appearance since the Paris attacks, secretary Ash Carter said the US would continue to look for opportunities to strike Isis. In a Wall Street Journal forum, Carter said it included hitting oil infrastructure, and aiding ground forces.

“We’re looking for opportunities to get at them, and we’ll continue to do that until they’re defeated,” said Carter.

Congress will on Tuesday (for the House) and Wednesday (for the Senate) receive classified briefings from the FBI and Homeland Security on the Paris attacks.

' $ 50m reward for information' on Sinai aircraft bomb attack

Russian president Vladimir Putin has ordered the Russian air force to intensify its air strikes in Syria after his security services confirmed a bomb brought the Metrojet airliner down in the Sinai.

It must be intensified in such a way that the criminals understand that retribution is inevitable.

We will search for them everywhere wherever they are hiding. We will find them anywhere on the planet and punish them.

Russian news agency Interfax reports that the FSB is offering an enormous $ 50m reward for information that leads to the capture of those who planned the bomb attack.

Russian air strikes target Raqqa - French source

Russia staged air strikes on Raqqa in northern Syria as French bombers also targeted the IS stronghold, a senior French government source has told Reuters.

“At this moment, the Russians are in the process of strongly hitting the city of Raqqa, which is proof that they too are becoming conscious [of the threat from Islamic State],” the source said.

Putin announced this morning that Russia would intensify its strikes in Syria after the Russian intelligence service said they had found conclusive proof that a bomb had brought down the Metrojet airliner in Egypt’s Sinai peninsula, carrying Russian tourists from Sharm el-Sheikh.

As it stands right now: France, UK, US, Russia

UK bombers target Islamic State in Iraq

RAF Tornado fighter bombers have attacked a large group of more than 30 Islamic State terrorists attacking Kurdish forces in northern Iraq, the Ministry of Defence has said.

A Tornado G4 patrol “guided” a Paveway bomb target at a group of more than 30 fighters near Sinjar, the MoD statement said.

"The first flight used a Paveway bomb to destroy a mortar position which had opened fire on the Kurds [who are fighting on the ground in the region].

The following mission destroyed a heavy machine gun near Mosul with a Paveway IV, then proceeded west towards Sinjar.

There was heavy cloud, which may have encouraged the terrorists to assume that they were safe from air attack, but, working very closely with the Kurdish forces, the GR4s were able to guide a Paveway on to a large group of over 30 Daesh terrorists who were massing for a counter-attack; the Kurdish unit subsequently reported that the air strike had been highly effective.

“the Tornado patrol then destroyed another Isil mortar position south-west of Sinjar."

Pope Francis calls Paris massacre part of ‘Third World War’

Francis called the wave of terrorist violence that killed at least 129 people “a piece” of the “piecemeal Third World War" and said the bloody rampage was "not human."

Pope wants Muslims in Jubilee - Parolin

Vatican City, November 16 - Pope Francis wants Muslims involved in the upcoming Jubilee Year of Mercy, which can serve as common ground to find solutions to overcoming hate, said Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin in an interview published Monday by French Catholic daily La Croix.
"The pope wants the Jubilee to serve for people meeting, to understand and overcome their hate," Parolin said.
"In a world lacerated by violence, it's the right time to launch a mercy offensive," Parolin said in the wake of Friday's attacks by Islamist terrorists in Paris in which at least 129 people died.
"Mercy is also the most beautiful name of God for the Muslims, who can be involved in this Holy Year, as the pope wishes".
I admire him.
