Nah. You choose to drink and you choose to drink to the point you black out.

Precisely. There’s drinking, and then there’s drinking to excess. Black out drinking has to be covering up some kind of issue, whether it’s alcoholism or otherwise. Idk how it’s okay to anyone that they blacked out. Let alone something they expect to happen and just shrug at.

You actually had an excuse for acting out being young and black out drunk. What’s his excuse for screaming bloody murder. He’s old enough to know better.

Being young and black out drunk can be used as an excuse?

As a man too? Or just women..

Like.. what if a young, black out drunk man assaults a woman. They have an excuse, right?

Well I'm not really all that young. I might be the oldest one on this thread. I've recently blacked out and fall. I was attempting to keep that a secret from the site to not put myself to shame but since y'all can't see me and this thread came along at the right time I figure oh what the hell. I can honestly say no matter how black out I get I never let alcohol control me in to doing anything negative or saying anything negative. There is absolutely no excuse for negative behavior regarding alcohol.

I think it's an explanation that can help the other person understand why that drunk person acted the way they did which might make it easier to forgive as a one-off situation rather than it being their character.

However, that drunk person would still need to make amends/apologies/fixing the situation... not just be like i'm young and got drunk, get over it! It's not my fault. No bitch, you created a bad situation for yourself and don't expect someone else to clean up your mess. Yes, I forgive you but clean up your own shit and make amends... be responsible. it's called growth.

But to LadyNeptune's point...what kind of person starts yelling at another person who is blacked out drunk (young or old) ... that person is equally immature because a wise person would know that that's not the time/place to have an angry reaction.

Classic scenario of two wrongs don't make a right.

At the same time though, what if someone got black out drunk and you just kicked them out? Do you have the right to do so? Yes of course, they chose to get black out drunk so you have a choice to not be around that.

Is it unkind though? Yes, because maybe they didn't intend to get that way and just didn't have enough experience to know when to stop.

Being right doesn't always mean being kind. Being kind doesn't always mean being right. I rather be and be with people who care more about being kind than right. (Don't mistake kindness with being stupid - aka you know this person gets black out drunk and you don't like but you keep letting them around you.)

Last time someone did that on my couch, I covered them with a blanket. I have them hell after lunch though, lmao! 🤭🤭🤭

haha that's actually both kind and holding them accountable... best approach in my books.

@_Dazed my Aries roomie at the time, got black out drunk at a concert because she just broke up with her bf some days before. I made my bf at the time go find her... she was passed out and peed herself in the bathroom so we had to leave early.

All she did the next day is sheepishly say that she's sorry. Bitch, what about the concert I missed because of you?? What about the drive, parking, and all that shit I put up with just to leave quarter way through. I'd expect some more amends than just an empty apology. How about pay for my concert tickets? How about book us another concert to go to? But def prefer if she just paid for my wasted ticket.

I didn't say anything about it at all. Looking back, I'm way too nice. I should've made her pay for my ticket due to her inconsiderate behavior. And yes, she was young lolllll

That's one example of the multiple inconsiderate behaviors from her,so I don't talk to her anymore.

The other day I was wondering why I haven't talked to her so this was a nice reminder of why. Isn't it annoying when you get the rose-colored glasses when looking at people and you've forgotten all their shitty sides... uggghhhh I wish I had better memory of people's bs.
