This is exactly the issue. People these days have this mentality like they just should never care about what other people think. It has nothing to do with being right. To the contrary, those who espouse these sorts of views. Have no regard for whether what the other person thinks, is right or not. Listen to yourself. You didn't say, specifically. So what we have, is a generation of people that never listen to other people. They believe THEY ARE RIGHT NO MATTER WHAT, and can never possibly be wrong. So really while it sounds like some profound philosophical statement to say "Who gives a fuck what other people think?"
It's actually really dumb as shit. Because it means you're not CONSIDERATE of others' thoughts, feelings, and above all: The fact that they are conscious entities equally capable of knowing something as much as you or even more so.
Rather, if you have a regard for what actually matters. Which is the Truth, above all else. Then you do not say "I do not care what other people think" like a fucking PSYCHOPATH. Instead you say "I only have a regard for thought and opinion, to whatever extent it adheres to the truth. To logic, rationality, and proof." So that, people are not taken for granted and one does not unto theirself hold onto ideas, thoughts, beliefs, and sentiments that are toxic and wrong.
For example. It's exactly this bullshit, that leads 99% of all Christians to believe that Homosexuality is wrong and that it is something God would condemn. Because instead of listening to all logic, reason, rationality, and evidence. They simply believe what they WISH to believe, regardless of the truth. Which leads to them putting in effort towards blocking the rights and quality of life of others. This is the reason Atheists view them the way they do. Because the vast majority of Christians are at best total morons, and at worst a menace to humanity, for a fact.
