Something different (No this isn't a topic specifically about campfires). This is just a place where men (and women) can boast about their accomplishments and share stories (funny or otherwise). Maybe you want to share a story about the 100 lb boar you killed with your bare hands. Maybe you saw a ghost one summer at camp and impressively voided your bowls in fear. Maybe you told off that one annoying co-worker finally. Whatever works.

The point is to get the MOST likes for your story. You can exaggerate, but know that people may not like your story if it sounds fake (or they might, who knows).

i once locked my keys in the truck, they slipped out of my hand as i closed the trunk, which was full of frozen meats for our work BBQ. Got help from some guys at the tire store nearby, after 45 minutes of them using a slim jim/hanger type thing and triggering my alarm about a dozen times but popped the lock.. only to discover my car has antitheft and you can't unlock the truck from the dash button if the door isn't unlocked correctly lol anhour in the heat, in summer in vegas.. to have to end up borrowing a co workers car to drive home to get my spare.

moral of the story.. keep a good grip on your keys.

It was in the 80s and all i remember is fire...fire overtaking a village...the night black as sin. My mother leads us through a desert. We're so young, my brother and I. Here we are in the desert on a camel, my mother guiding the camel. Something scary comes out of the bushes, I scream and fall off the Camel. Am I dead. I am hurt, I cry. Guerrilla fighters surround us. My mother is scared witless, will we be shot, to die, our bodies lost in the desert forever. Will they rape her. What will do they to her kids, she wonders, frightened. A sigh, relief, they are the good guys, or atleast they were okay. They let us pass through...but the memory lingers like a nightmare ...
Seriously intense, and also an awesome share.

I once got chased down the street by a giant raccoon.
I have a similar story...but with a peacock...I can't stand peacocks now...

He's a peacock. He just wanted to fly.

My school was a sanctuary for a few different wild animals, but mainly peacocks. As I was leaving class and walking outside I opened the door and failed to see a male peacock in the midst of his mating display (feathers spread and all) on the other side. I literally walked between him and the peahen he was trying to attract. So he got PISSED and proceeded to chase me practically across campus.

Aside from that they are loud obnoxious birds who get stuck on rooftops a lot.

Mine are going to be serving stories, because working with the public means you have stories.

I had a family come in, with a young couple. The guy was going to propose to his girlfriend. They gave me a rolled up piece of paper to put in her dessert for her to find. Only me, the guy, and his aunt know what's going down.

Dinner is over, and we have to persuade the girl to order something because she's full and didn't want any dessert. This rolled up piece of paper was about the length of a cigarette and they wanted me to hide it in her dessert. She ordered a slice of pie, so I put it under the whipped cream along the edge of the crust to hide it.

Of course, she was already full and not getting anywhere near the crust to find it. Fml, I should have known. He's sweating bullets, the aunt is trying to figure out wtf to do.

I have a light bulb moment.

"Folks, I'm so sorry, but we had an issue in the back and we need you to check your desserts for any foreign objects. Please let me know if you find anything so we can remedy this."

The aunt's eyes light up and she immediately jumps on in with the story, encouraging her to look. Another person at the table starts to lose her shit, wondering what the hell kind of establishment we are. I walked away at this point to let them do their searching.

A few minutes later I hear a commotion at their table. She said yes and everyone was excited.

I had a lady and her daughter visiting the states from England. I forgot how it came up (I think she had a hoodie on), but she was a hardcore Dr. Who fan. I liked the show when David Tennant was on and hadn't found the motivation to get into the new season with Matt Smith yet because not David Tennant.

She insisted that I get around to watching the rest because it was still really good and even though she saw David as "her doctor" she liked the new season a lot and thought Matt Smith was doing really well.

I drop the check and when I come back around, she hands me $ 40 and says to use that to go out and buy the new season to watch, then hands me the check and says keep the change, which was also a very generous tip.

Serious "aw" moment for sure.

We had an older gentleman who was a regular for years in the bar. He would chat with various servers who he'd gotten to known and was very much a fatherly figure. He always wanted to know how his girls were doing, what was going on in our lives and dishing out advice to us. He'd be in at least twice a week. He owned his own business and did relatively well for himself, so he was always leaving hefty tips to the bartender, or do nice things like give a $ 100 bill to one of the pregnant servers so she could get a car seat she was trying to save up for. He even handed me $ 100 on his way out one time. "Happy Birthday!" Refused to take it back and left.

Such a very cool guy.

At one point, I noticed he hadn't been around for a bit around the holidays and figured he'd gotten wrapped up in the holiday stuff and whatnot.

We received an email from his daughter, notifying us that he'd passed away suddenly. We were all floored and in shock. She invited all of us to come to his funeral. I think like 10 of us were able to make it and when we approached her, she was so, so nice and told us how he spoke highly of us and our place was one of his favorite places to go, which is why she felt the need to inform us of what would have happened.

I'm glad she did, tbh. We get regulars and when they suddenly stop coming, you're left wondering if they're okay. I had an older couple who I hadn't seen for awhile, and when I finally did, he'd had some crazy ass health issues that had happened. I didn't see them again after that and I still wonder about them. She was so sweet and he was a fiery old man who was hilarious.

I finally did get into the new series, but I think I made it through like 5-6 episodes and never got back around to it. I don't think he did a bad job, just... wasn't the same, you know?

I actually suggest skipping ahead and watching the eps with the next guy (totally forgot his name). He was less hipster and more grump old man. Actually enjoyable to watch. Series felt like it took a darker tone that Eccleston had in his short stint.

Oh yeah I think the new guy has already started. I'm not caught up either, but I did catch a few with the last guy before they made the switch.

I was 17 years old in highschool. The gym teacher had our class, weight training, move these giant bleachers used for students to sit and watch football games. Each section was at least 900 lbs and we hauled it and carried it to place it on a trailer. We were dumb so we sat at the end of the trailer, getting yelled at to get off. After a few trips, coach forgot we were sitting on it and he clipped a corner, hitting a fence post. The crash sent this 1000 lb metal box flying towards us. We all jumped off but one kid fell on the ground and it was coming down straight towards him. Me and a classmate immediately turned around and put our hands up to stop it for a brief second. It was so heavy for two of us,but it bought that valuable second that kid needed to not get crushed and possibly severed in half. It came down, missing his feet by inches. We were so pumped up and one of my classmates freaked out and said "what the fuck happened to your hand!??!" I looked at it and my right index was almost completely severed off, just hanging by skin from the impact of a metal support beam. That day was so stupid, alot of us could've gotten severely injured or died.
Intense.
