Women always list this as important to them. I don't really know how tbh, I'm just good at smiling and making jokes and that does me well. I'm interested in hearing what this means to you though.

I'm pretty much the same. All I know how to do is smile at every passing women. Thats pretty much my way of speaking since its obvious i dont talk. It's not hard for people to see I'm a boring conversationalist. Any conversation that's boring and mundane I yawn and wanna fall asleep on em. Other than that I don't know how to initiate a conversation. Not a woman by the way.

It has to be natural, the mental connection. I don’t really like small talk about the weather or “how was your day”. It’s ok if that’s asked on occasion, but there are men that will ask that question everyday and it gets redundant and you know they are not genuinely interested in knowing the answer.

Ask questions that you genuinely want to know the answers to.

I like when men ask me questions about my perspective on things or about past experiences. Like if you hear something on the radio or podcast that interests you, you can tell her about it and ask what her perspective is on it. For instance the last guy I dated told me that he heard on the radio that women fake orgasms because they don’t want to hurt their partners feelings. He asked my perspective on it because he was genuinely interested. Not because he was trying to fill gaps of silence with awkward conversation.

The same things we talk about on here can be talked about in relationships. Reading more books, reading the news or listening to podcasts etc are different ways to find a broad range of topics to discuss with her besides the typical “how is your day?”

He probably asked you that because he was tryna get you talking and thinking about sex. Thanks for your response.

Talk about how air aviation is the wildest thing ever.

I also like to talk about traveling nightmares or wins

Food

Maybe even a current event in the world

Yeah, like you went to such and such and at 3 am you were driving, hit a pothole and had to walk miles and miles to nearest 7-11 where you were greeted by 3 homeless men who gave you stock market tips.

This was about a year in actually, after we had already had sex.

And you’re welcome.

I live in a country where conversations and story telling flows …. It’d be alien for me to encounter someone who doesn’t know how to converse.

Maybe enroll in an art of conversation course?

No I don't think I will.

I'm just asking what constitutes and interesting conversation to womenfolk, not tryna join a Shakespeare class.

Interesting = engaging = having to put some thought, effort, and perspective into it

I think you can be quite dismissive sometimes, which is basically the opposite of what you’d like to achieve

That depends on every woman, some women talk a lot others less, and it's sth that comes naturally, but it always good to show some interest in the woman.

Maybe you can also use your surrounding for example talking about the restaurant you're meeting in then maybe you can ask her if she's from that area, she'll tell you about where she's from and so on, one thing can lead to another.

Don't go too deep though.

And maybe you can also think of the things you want to know and if this person is right for you or not, again not too deep but also be specific, that can save you a lot of time.

So instead of focusing on what to say just to make a conversation, try to come up with the questions that will help you dodge a bullet.

I like this idea…People Watching and see who can tell the best story

Elicit a positive response. Doesn't matter if you're talking about murder or warfare or what color curtains she would like in her room. As long as she's receptive, it's all good

At the end of the day, it's simple. Just find out what she likes, then ask her a bunch of (but not too much) questions on it. We do like to talk about ourselves and our passions ngl 😂 and from there it'll be bounce between you and she'll ask you about your passions and so on.

Her passions and likes/dislikes are what interests her and will get the conversational juices flowing between the two of you.

Interesting question coming from you…

Sigh

You are largely there already OP. Humour is a big factor in terms of what constitutes as interesting conversations. Also I think you are already fairly knowledgeable in a number of topics already, which is also something really helpful.

I was curious to see if you’d ask what I mean. There is a world’s difference between interesting topic and interesting conversation. It’s kinda moot if you don’t keep the conversation going due to what she constitutes as interesting is boring you to death.

I didn't ask because I knew you were just going to compliment me lol

This made me laugh. But what's wrong with Shakespeare?

BTW it's gonna be different for different people. I love eavesdropping on condos in public, most people talk about mundane things like who said or did what or who went where, had a kid, blah blah blah. I dunno who's having interesting conversations with them 😂

Most people have boring lives and that's all they've got. I'm surprised there aren't more suicides due to unrealistic expectations from social media.

Agree. My current job is boring as hell. I have 10 or so hours a day that produce zero topics of interest. If I don't get time to pursue anything after work, I have no current events things to discuss.

I don't understand why people can't figure out that social media is at best highlights reels. I mean I can post I'm backpacking the great wall of China if I want, doesn't mean I am. I think some people are more given to expecting unrealistic lives than others. I wonder what their types would have done back in the days when you only traveled like 20 miles from home your entire life and entertainment was setting on the porch watching the grass grow...

Those two generations went off and fought two world wars. These last two social media generations are coddled to oblivion. This is their Vietnam. 🤭

Only ww2 for America. And then only the men of a certain age. Other than that, pretty boring times but they didn't expect things to be interesting. They read more back then, there isn't really any good literature today.

Authenticity goes a long way. Personally, I don't like to talk just for the sake of talking. A good conversation for me is one that comes naturally. Unfortunately I've met men who try to make themselves seem interesting by making up stories. And unfortunately for me, I can sense it when someone's just a bullshitter and to me, that doesn't count as a good convo.

I've never never in my life had an interesting conversation that didn't involve something I actually like or enjoy. That is something everyone needs to know, because it's not just me. Majority of people don't want to talk about things they don't care about. So best advice is try to talk about something that is happening in the moment. I don't mean weather, or meaningless stuff like that. The best conversations happen when one person brings up something the other person is interested in, which isn't always easy. Sometimes you have to test the water a bit. Try to admire aspects of their image, and try to start a conversation about that. But also dont hold them up at the same time. Just be open, and say what you want imo. Worst case it's kind of awkward, and you never see them again. Having that same exact scenario and feeling awkward while saying nothing is 100% as awkward imo, and even worse, because you didn't even try. Human connection is 100% rng. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. In the end you have nothing to lose.

You need people who are great listeners and know how to disagree without attacking others. The intent is to learn from one another, not prove that you're more right and the other is wrong.

It's entirely possible, you just don't want to. Don't try to deflect your disinterest in doing the work required to complete the task...

You can honestly have a good conversation with a woman by simply not trying to help or fix what ever you're discussing. Just let her vent and spill it out on the table. Nod, smile and insert a witty input every few minutes. You don't want to put your foot in your mouth when first engaging.

If you're trying to have an intellectual discussion, then you need to ask good follow-up questions and exchange without being defensive or accusing. Share then rinse & repeat.

Just be aware of your surroundings and use it to your advantage.

A joke? Mayhaps I doth post in jest as well good sir...or mayhaps I am but a mere simpleton, fruitlessly trying to hide amongst those of superior intellectual abilities with my feeble attempts at humour
