Order of the Stars RP
Hello fellow DXPnet members and Role-play (RP) enthusiasts. I've decided shake things up a bit here in the writing forum and set up a group here to make things less boring. So the premise is simple enough, people are born with super powers of various kinds. An organization (Order) formed based around these people and keep the existence of these people's power under wraps so well that they'd make any secret agency jealous. So what type of OC will you make? A member of this order? Someone watching them and considering their offer? Someone trying to avoid them at all costs?
I'll make a master post thread with details about the order as they get revealed. No worries though, if you want to make an OC who's already a part of the order, they'll be a post you can use for reference for stuff members would know. Also will be a list of the powers that people have exhibited. Finally, with the OC sheet will be a Rules & FAQ post. With that said, I look forward to seeing you all out there!

1. No Godmodding. (This means no autohits (not letting your partner choose if an action done by you connects or not. Controlling your partners characters (OC or NPCS under their control) or Instant kills (Unless talked to and approved by your partner).
2. Explicit Material (Extreme Graphic violence, Sexual Intercourse or Offensive words such as racial slurs or swearing). This site actually has rules about this stuff, so break them at your own risk of having your thread removed or yourself banned.
3. Do not Rp with OCs unless they've already been read over and approved. Either by myself or anyone given power to check & approve sheets.
FAQ
1. Okay, I want to make a character who joined the Order, what would my character know?
- Eventually a post will be made once people start rping. The post will be what is considered common knowledge to characters watching the group and actual order members. Until that point is reached, people wishing to make order members will be given information via PM.
2. I made an OC, so now what?
- You can make a open thread for your OC, so others can reply to it OR look to see if there is an open thread already up for you to respond to.
3. The hell is an open thread?
- An open thread is a story scenario that was created for characters to meet each other and interact. The difference between an open and closed Rp, is that while open is available for anyone who wants to respond to it, a closed thread is made with set characters in mind.
4. So say someone answered an open thread before I got to it, does that mean it's closed now?
- That depends on the person who wrote the open. Though I'd advise closing a thread once it gets a response. Otherwise you could get 5 different people all replying to the same open.
5. I want to rp with more than one person in a thread, how do I do that?
- Make an closed thread Rp, tagging the people you had in mind. You all work out a posting order and have at it.
6. Is there anything like a word requirement for posts? What about tenses? Do we write in 1st or 3rd person?
-There are Novel, Para and script style Rps. Novel-style is for multi-paragraph replies every post. Para is short for Paragraph-style, which is a minimum of a paragraph with each reply. script is at least one sentence.
As for tenses, there isn't a set one. Though it's advised that once you pick one, you stay with it. Switch from present to past tense or vice-versa would confuse people reading. 3Rd person view is the default, but you can use 1st person. Again, the only issue is how the thread would read to people.

Birthday/Sign: (Month and Day and Zodiac Sign)

Power Sheet
The type of powers your OC has will be determined by their sun sign. The max you can start out with is 6 things listed under their sun sign. As things progress more options will be released and the limit will increase, but as for now it's 6. How they use the things listed below will be up to your imagination.

Physical Description: Clocking in at 5'8 and 200lbs, his most standout features would be his blonde hair and tone body. He doesn't have anything like 6 pack abs, but his weight is more due to muscle then fat. His eyes are brown and give off an almost sleepy expression to them.
Birthday/Sign: May 5 (Taurus)
History/Back-Story: He lived an average life in the American Mid-West, where the most eventful moments of his childhood were moving from Idaho to South Dakota. Nothing really deviated from the norm until his 14th birthday. Aside from being the year he got his first kiss from a girl he liked, it was also the year he got visited by members of the order, while he was at the local community center swimming pool. While they were right about him and his ability to sense people at times, he learned to ignore it due to the looks he got from family when he mentioned it. Originally, he was freaked out by them, but relaxed a bit once they said he had seven years to make up his mind.
At first, he didn't want anything to do with them and wanted to simply ignore them. Though as he grew older, he grew more and more curious about this order and their members. It also helped he developed a crush on one of the female members of the order he ran into. Eventually, he decided to join by his 17th birthday. After that, his whole life changed and he hasn't regretted making his decision yet.
Though he prefers to do low stake jobs, like delivery or intelligence gathering, he can and has on occasion done more risky jobs like rescues or bounty hunts.
Powers and Abilities:
-Spinach Creation and Manipulation: John can create spinach using energy from his own body. He can also control spinach in the area around him in several of ways, like controlling the density of the spinach to make a wall or stairs or sending a large wave of spinach to cover an area equal to how much spinach he has in the area to use.
-Artwork Manipulation: With paintings, he can use them as a listen in on conversations or communicate with someone looking at them. With Sculptures and statutes, he can make them move as if they were living beings. He can't figure out how to manipulate music aside from having people compliment and copy his musical tastes.
-Copper Manipulation: He can make weapons, objects, tools and armor out of copper in the area. He can create copper using energy from his own body, but he'll only do that when he has no choice in the matter.
-Command of Cattle: Cows and Bulls obey him without question. Sadly they look at him funny whenever he gives them a command that is beyond the capabilities of a cow/bull. Like dancing.
-Money Manipulation: He can't make money of energy but he can do wondrous things with money around him. Live spend like a teenager or make sound investments. Also have paper money become sharp enough that they can cut s

Posted by aquanibI know, I felt so bad for some signs. Freaking Capricorn and Aquarius would be broken as hell if there weren't limits placed on the characters.
If this would be a computer game, aquarius would be terribly overpowered. You put everything required to make nukes! Pretty sure that beats a food fight and a stampede any day :>
Also, weapons aren't made from copper, unless you speak of old swords and spears.
Sure you could make a nuke, but how much energy would it cost you and then their is the fact you need to KNOW how to make one.

Ever since 1823, people were born into the world with particular talents, gifts or some would say, powers. There is almost nothing in terms of detailed accounts about these people, though it's not from a lack of investigation or incidents for reporters. All that the most intense of investigative reporters have found was that these people and this order would always have a link to one another. Though the nature of the relationship between the two also remains a mystery to most.
These nuggets of information are what could count as “common knowledge” to the general population.
Now if you were one of the “gifted” people who had a run in with this order, your understanding of it would be completely different.
You remember them appearing around the time of your 7th birthday, you couldn't simply point them out, you could really only sense their presence when they were around you. Your powers also started to manifest on this year as well. On your 14th birthday, that's when you got to have a conversation with members of this order. Being told you weren't the only one who had powers, how there was a whole world that existed in parallel with the one you lived in. Then you were given a choice, join the order, where you'd see things you could never be unseen or forget or continue to live a “normal” life under the constant thread of having your powers discovered and being treated differently (and/or experimented on by scientists).
You were given a 7 year window to make your choice, being told that members of the order would now allow you to see them work, to talk to them, etc However, none would reveal anything that rob of your chance of living a normal life outside the order.
