Not going into details, but someone close to me tried to tear me down just now.

Their actually words didn't do much of anything since I know the situation and the truth, but the simple fact they tried to hurt me like that.

Just, wow. I suppose it's the price paid for being close with someone, revealing yourself and letting them see parts of yourself you keep guarded.

I'm sorry you experienced that. I did too a few years ago with someone who was a close friend who I had trusted for a long time. Like you, I knew the truth so it wasn't their words that hurt, it was the intention.

Don't let it make you be guarded with everyone - it just means that particular person has issues they aren't properly addressing most likely so they chose to tear someone else down.

Like my godmother would say:

Her: "How are you?"

Me: "Well, people are pissing me off to be honest."

Her: "Tell them to not to do that."
They're triple water, so their rant made less sense as it went on.

They threatened me about cutting ties with family, yet from their rant they said they were done with me.

So yeah, not begging to keep a relationship he's willing to kill.

Yeah, I know, but thanks for telling me this.

It reminds me that it wouldn't be fair to everyone else around me to close off over one person.

Thank you.

You're welcome. After it happened to me I had to remind myself about that too.

Been there. That is one thing that will immediately destroy all of my feelings and any type of attachment or affection I had for that person. On. The. Spot.

Plus I'm learning as I get older that silence and no reaction gets my point across more than any words ever could. I would simply just walk away no words spoken and let them dwell in their misery.
Yes, I can forgive them, but will never forget this.

I can be civil, but the bond has been damaged to the point you say it's broken.

@ Sirhorns my brother, Its cause you got a good heart and you care man. If people are meant to be in your life, they'll stay. If you do good for somebody and they walk out, its their loss. Its better not having them at all.

Exactly, it's funny you say that. Since they tried to hurt me by saying they knew my "true colors'. Yet they're the one who served ties with a family member over something trivial.

Yeah, plenty of others around that appreciate me.

Its frustrating at times to be misunderstood and everybody is. Alot of Caps i know including myself we tend to bottle things up instead of trying to explain ourselves. It's like the saying "Don't judge a book by its cover" but people will only skim pages and never read between the lines.

When it comes to people thinking they know your true colors...they're only seeing shades of grey. Let people think whatever they wanna think.

Let your colors shine man. Don't ever let nobody ..and i mean NOBODY steal your joy or steal your light. ALWAYS stay true to yourself no matter what. Keeo your head up. If it doesn't kill you, it'll make tou stronger !
Preach, brother, preach!

Glad to have you here on the boards man, thanks.
