My boyfriend's temporary Roomate has left his two medium sized dogs. He leaves them for 13 hours or more alone in his room with only a water bowl and turns the lights off.
You hear them whining and barking the whole time. I personally feel like that's animal abuse.
When he finally returns he lets the dogs in the yard for 6 mins and they go back to the room with him. I don't think he even walks them.
For me, 6 is a max. Anything more than that she goes to Grandma's.
With the Wag app, this should not be a thing anymore. Or if you have nice roommates that actually care about your dog, you could give em a little cash to take them out or for a walk. Ugh...... 😠😧😩
I leave mine for hours...usually 8 now but before it was around the same time frame of 12-13 hours but I have someone to check in on him and walk him etc. I also leave the radio on for him and I have a camera that I turn on to monitor...plus I leave the front window blinds up so he can look out etc. He has free range of the apartment and spends most of his time sleeping. On my days off...I tend to take him everywhere with me so that he gets a good amount of outside time from the apartment besides walks etc.
13 hrs in one room all day is not good...why doesnt the roommate ask ya'll to let them out etc especially if ya'll are gonna be there? or just do it!
