What Is a Modern Club Sandwich?
A modern club sandwich is a layered meal with turkey or chicken, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce, bacon, and mayonnaise on sourdough or whole wheat bread. It is known for its hearty size and multiple layers, making it a filling choice for those with a big appetite.

People always wanted to see what I brought for lunch... and, thought I was bourgeious. Venus what's that... me: "a reuben..." it's a "dagwood."
I make an excellent patty melt - my husband's favorite.
I was hooked on Monte Cristos in college.

Time to get down to the real issues! What's your favorite sandwich? If your favorite sandwich is unique, what's in it?This is very difficult...but I'm going to have to go with my trusty modern club sandwich in all of it's layered glory. Why? I have a frightening appetite, so most sandwiches simply won't do...with their TWO slices of bread and...one or two ingredients. NO. Give me layers of turkey (or chicken), cheddar, tomato, lettuce, bacon, mayonnaise, on sour dough or whole wheat bread. Add a side honey mustard, ranch, or Italian dressing along with it. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper on the tomato to taste and treat yourself to a working man's sandwich....a manwich.
Fave sandwich would be salami, ham, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers , lettuce , oil & vinegar ..it has to be gigundo , nothing small will do

Yes! That sounds bomb. I actually love Italian sandwiches, so this was a difficult toss up for me.

I used to feel like Molly Ringwald in "The Breakfast Club" when pulling out my lunch.
I gotta make my husband's favorite better than anybody else.... Waffle House, gotcha patty melt!
Feta cheese, smoked salmon, cherry toms, rocket/salad leaves with apple cider vinegar and olive oil dressing.....on gluten free bread

As a breakfast sandwich when it's a cheat day, I love the Monte Cristo.It's usually cooked with buttered white bread, ham, some sort of white cheese (usually Swiss or provolone), and scrambled eggs. I replace ham with turkey though because I'm not a fan of the pork. It's orgasmic.
If I'm getting a sandwich for lunch, I get a "bootlegger" sandwich. It's not a sandwich that's sold everywhere, so sometimes you have to custom make it.
It comes with mayo, mustard, turkey, roast beef, provolone cheese, and whatever veggies you want.
Starting to get jealous of everyone's choices. These are both solid. The Monte Cristo is one of the best sandwiches in existence.

It's the equivalent of your Monte Cristo in America i think, but here it's just emmental, ham and butter. I always add comté and other cheese in it.
Le parisien ( ou jambon beurre )
Just a simple sandwich with butter and ham. The baguette it's the key to this sandwich, it has to be good
And le poulet crudité
Baguette, chicken, mayonnaise, salad and tomato. Since i don't like tomato i don't put it in there and i add more mayo haha
And many more sandwich, but since we have to choose i'll go with the 3 above
These food thread are really difficult haha

Strawberry, Avocado and Goat Cheese.
Huh that actually makes a lot of sense from a culinary standpoint. I never would have thought to put strawberries in a sandwich. Is there a name for this type of sandwich?

Grilled cheeze.
Try it with kimchi inside. Make sure you put mayo on the outside of the bread...not butter. Makes for a better fry.

Never tried with turkey tho, always delicious chicken!
+ I need extra Bacon in my club sandwich and extra Mayo! I don't like it when the bread is too dry - crispy

I love submarines too! With yummy slices of steak, mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, fresh bread, salad, sauce, caramelized onions... Yummmm!

I'm also happy with subs. Yes, I should've stated that fries are mandatory with the club sandwich. Chips (crisps) are fine...but fries (chips) are where it's AT!

Oh yeah club sandwiches with a fried potato side of some sort is just the best. Fries prefered though.

My favorite everyday sandwich is turkey with lots of mayo (i know ewwww) and mustard. I love a good cheese Sandwich with soup on side.
But My absolute favorite sandwich is from paseo u?mmmmmm i don't eat pork so it's chicken but their pork is very popular

Well that just looks awesome and is also quite unique.
JFC I love them all and I will try anything once but the classic comfort foods are more me. I cook and bake a lot but I normally don't make/eat a lot of sandwiches because I don't want all that bread. I make really good tuna and salmon salad. I am hungry, going to get some food lol ... thanks @2Moon

IKR I would eat it everyday if I could. I bake a big hunk of it at least twice a month. In between I make either fish teriyaki stir fry or another good baked fish meal. Can't go wrong with baked fish, homemade macaroni and cheese, baked lima beans and a big dark green salad with fresh tomatoes and feta cheese. Homemade garlic and cheese biscuits too of course. And a homemade blueberry pie.
Fresh tomatoes and feta cheese, like a Greek salad with their spices-sauce! Mmmm!
I love fish / sea food!!
apple pie is yummy too! I think I prefer apple pie... Hot or Cold!! Both delicious
I prefer it because its more sweet, I love sugary foods!
hot apple pie and ice cream or milk is the norm for breakfast every holiday at my house - so good !
I have to watch that I don't blow up on too much sugary foods - but I love my fruit pies.
Blueberries are almost in season and I will be picking and canning and freezing. Sour Cherry season is over and also now Peaches are coming - a trip to the farm - can't wait ...

Oooo I forgot about that. The Cubano is BOMB too. That along with a guava smoothie is heaven.
ugh...i tried the cubano when they messed up my griiiileed chicken order....not a fan... and not a fan of guavas so thats out of the pic! lol
Cubano's are best made in PR or Cuba however you can find some good ones here. It's the way they make their own meats there that turns things up a notch.
I'm not a fan of guava - they put some sort of guava stuff on my siracha hummus that looks like I don't know but I scrape it off

I love making my own sandwiches. I start with a whole grain bread that has all the bird seeds on the crust. I use alot of mayo also. From there, I use lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese ( either extra sharp bitter cheddar, Gouda, or Fontini ), Turkey ham, salami, and jalapeno or habanero slices for the kicker. I don't use mustard or ketchup. Not a fan of them. I do use pesto sauce sometimes in replacement of mayonnaise.
Hahaha sounds pretty lean aside from the "lots of mayo" aspect. Well I guess the cheese isn't too lean either, but it does sound good!

..well i have yet to go to PR or Cuba .. but ill take your word for it... but I do love that Grilled Chicken Sandwhich... if i could I would have it every other day... but those lines at Portos... are sooo off putting

I had a real Cubano, it was ok. The problem is everything is government supplied. So if a restaurant doesn't have a particular ingredient (which happens often), they have to work with what they've got.
