Are we really?

This aries woman who's married to a Capricorn man and has 4 kids with him says that he introduces his girlfriends to her and the kids and she allows them to come over and stay over and lets him sleep with them in the house all because she loves him.. At first I thought this was the primary example of unconditional love and radical acceptance on her part.. but then she told me she entertains men on the side that her husband knows nothing about in order to cope with all the stress that comes with all his shenanigans and to keep sane... Which leads me to ask this question... are we mentally and emotionally capable to fully accept and love someone, just as they are, with all their flaws and faults? Couldn't this lady handle all this man's shenanigans while remaining faithful, without any stress-relievers on the side? is that possible for anyone to do?

Yes

What makes you say that?

Your brain most strongly impels you to take action which will support your survival, in a case like this where her immediate physical needs are met (food/shelter/clean water) her choice to see men on the side is an unnecessary indulgence

What about the fact that stress can kill you?

Ah there's the problem he's a Cap. Explains alot. My advice drop the zero & find herself a hero. But then again not knowing the entire story of their relationship can't say for sure. He definitely sounds like a complete @ $ $ hole.

Yes he is. He once almost killed her when he found out she was messing around with someone else. Beat her up so bad she almost died.

Yes I think she could. But why would she?

Radical acceptance

Well I really think she is obviously accepting him exactly as he is. It’s doesn’t mean that she has to comply to what he expects of her.

OMG seriously that's disgusting. Maybe I'm doing something right as I've never had a man even pinch me. Is she still with him?

I don't get how she means "stress-relievers".. Wouldn't involving more people ADD to the stress?

The answer to this question lies in the heart of love itself. Everyone is confused thinking love is about themselves. Selfish love doesn't really count. It's self rewarding so it will fail always. It's that constant "me, me, me, I, I, I, I want, I want, I want" that everyone has hissing from their mouths that they think is love, but is so far from it.

Love is the enduring selfless sacrificing for another human being. The willingness to give instead of take, the willingness to silently suffer so another person doesn't have to, the willingness to with your eyes wide open see a train wreck of a human being and say to yourself, "What this world tried to destroy, I will try to build anew with my bare hands." Thoughts of self are fought the entire time when real love is occurring.

So does that include putting up with being mistreated by your SO all in the name of love?

You're confusing loyalty with unconditional love. There's people that remain loyal to their partner - despite of feeling a lot of hate for the one in question (most of the time). Apparently, the fear of the unknown is more terrifying. As the saying goes... "better the devil you know than the devil you don't"

Same goes for people who can't find the courage to quit a job they hate - or to leave a toxic family.

Oh wow, this sounds nearly identical to my Caps friend setup with his Aries wife. The only thing is that they usually don't hide anything from eachother. He brings women in, or she brings women in, and they both sleep with them. He told me the other day though that she slept with his military friend, which he thought was beyond foul. I told him they've created this bed, so there's no use to having boundaries now.

They are very loyal to eachother, but I think the friend thing messed him up, which all he's going to do is get payback. I don't think either of them love this setup, but they are enjoying doing what they want to do.
