If you pay attention to deal sites, you'd be amazed what's already going on prior to black friday. Someone joked about a 5 dollar crock pot above, and the funny thing is that I just got a 5 dollar crock pot from Kohl's last week via sales, coupons, and rebates. No Black Friday bs.

Besides, 99% of the time, half that shit on sale isn't even on my list of things to get people so it's totally useless. Nevermind that a good portion of their major "deals" are limited quantities sold out within minutes. Yet people camp out and froth over this bullshit like the mindless idiots they are.

This year will be an exception for me. I saw the leaked ads and there are several things in there that will save me hundreds. The phones that both my boys wanted are free (with certain networks) but target is giving a $ 250 gift card plus a VR headset with the Galaxy 7.

I could get them free anywhere but that a $ 500 gift card and the VR headset that I was planning on buying anyways ( $ 75).

I'm hoping it's available online too but I will head out for that deal. I accompianed my cousin a few years ago and it was a stressful nightmare. Mind you, she dragged me in a zillion crowded stores, but it was awful.

I can't support an American retail-based holiday that people die at every year, by being stomped to death by other people who are trying to buy a toaster, THE DAY OF being thankful for what one already has. It's so trashy, fucked up, and just humiliating 😢

I have heard it can be that bad ....but the years that I have personally have went ...in the toy section the mom's where sweet they brought snacks and water offered to hold places in line ....I have people make sure that given up 3 of something that they wanted so I could have one ...

the only thing ITS SO FREAKING CROWDED ...put everyone says excuse me ..and you do to cause you can't help accidentally touching someone else ...but I never been involved in any fight, I have never yelled at anyone and they haven't ever yelled at me ..now that being said I really do wish that it was on friday ...it kind of messes up thanksgiving for me 😢

If the deals work out for people, that's awesome. But on a yearly basis, people are in line for TVs and it's like god damn, how many years do you need to do this crap? I follow Dealnews regularly and they do the break downs on what you should and shouldn't buy during black friday and the like and funnily enough, they recommend not buying certain hot ticket items they advertise on black friday because you can get similar or better deals without having to deal with that madness.

I always love the canned response of "well they can just get another job if they don't want to work holidays!" *eyeroll* Ever think that maybe they had that job prior to these places deciding to stay open? Even if they got into it after the fact, it's getting slim that those seeking seasonal jobs are going to find a place that's closed on these holidays.

The last place I worked at, I knew what I was getting into working on Thanksgiving. As long as I worked a morning shift and was out by 3, I was fine since Thanksgiving dinner usually was around 5ish. But then their greedy fuck asses were open on Christmas. I am so glad I got the fuck out of there. Now I don't work either and it's glorious. 🙂

...hopefully the place I work for now won't decide to open on the holidays. The only thing they do on Thanksgiving is have sign ups to volunteer for going to help feed the less fortunate. So they're basically provided a full dining service with their Thanksgiving meals.

How long ago was this? When I had to work that bs, we opened at 6 or 7. I remember having to get up at freaking 5 am to go to work for that shit and there was already lines down the sidewalk and the employees were barely there to open the store. That was back in 1999.

Black Friday is overrated and not worth the time a good portion of the time. Those who buy into it are mindless idiots.

If you pay attention to deal sites, you'd be amazed what's already going on prior to black friday. Someone joked about a 5 dollar crock pot above, and the funny thing is that I just got a 5 dollar crock pot from Kohl's last week via sales, coupons, and rebates. No Black Friday bs.

Besides, 99% of the time, half that shit on sale isn't even on my list of things to get people so it's totally useless. Nevermind that a good portion of their major "deals" are limited quantities sold out within minutes. Yet people camp out and froth over this bullshit like the mindless idiots they are.

I can't support an American retail-based holiday that people die at every year, by being stomped to death by other people who are trying to buy a toaster, THE DAY OF being thankful for what one already has. It's so trashy, fucked up, and just humiliating 😢

I have heard it can be that bad ....but the years that I have personally have went ...in the toy section the mom's where sweet they brought snacks and water offered to hold places in line ....I have people make sure that given up 3 of something that they wanted so I could have one ...

the only thing ITS SO FREAKING CROWDED ...put everyone says excuse me ..and you do to cause you can't help accidentally touching someone else ...but I never been involved in any fight, I have never yelled at anyone and they haven't ever yelled at me ..now that being said I really do wish that it was on friday ...it kind of messes up thanksgiving for me 😢

I don't dictate when anything is open or when its starts ...if I start going to the bank on sunday ... will they open ...probably not they will just be closed i will have access to the atm ..you say you don't go on thanksgiving every year and alot of people don't .. does it stop them from having black friday on thanksgiving ...*gasp* it didn't ...

The time that I accompianed my cousin I didn't even buy anything. I just watched in amazement.

Target is my friend this year though. Besides the phone deal on Friday I just saw that all decorations and wrapping paper will be $ 50 off $ 100 purchase on Saturday. If I can get the phones online I may venture out on Saturday. I just can't do two days though. I'm not that patient.
