Just thought I'd make a space for this.

I understand there are many different forms of Christmas,

both culturally, religiously, spiritually, secular or commercial etc

But there is no denying the impact the Holidays have on people from all walks of Life- whether it's seasonal affective disorder, coping with the "acting Festive" pressure, losing loved ones, or the many ups and downs the Year has thrown our way.

This thread is just here if anyone wants to reach out, break from isolation or chat through this time...

im alone and i'm doing a-okay, so far! but if i dont i will for sure reach out to peeps that i am close to! I usually loose it on Christmas day when i see all the joy and cheer plastered all over FB. i usually get to where i just cuddle in bed under blankets and watch movies lol

Sometimes spending the holidays alone can be the best. I'm pretty much alone this year. My brothers spending Christmas in Chicago this year with the fiance. So it's just me and the cat. Of course my extended family is throwing the big Christmas Eve party tomorrow like they do every year where there is always way too much food and it's always way too loud. I'll probably go and make an appearance, but I'm really looking forward to coming home afterwards to curl up on the couch with the cat and sip hot chocolate while watching a movie. I normally don't get all festive, but this year I actually put up a Christmas tree and put a shit load of lights on the outside of my house. My neighborhood has this stupid decorating contest every year and this year I said why the hell not and entered. I don't know what has gotten into me. So tomorrow night the cat and I will probably stay up all night waiting on Santa to arrive. We will probably ring in the new year together too. Fun times! Lol

This is what I cannot respect of religious people. I don't need you to feel sorry for me nor does any other atheist. Stop trying to make yourself feel good when it's not necessary.

There are people, like me, who are just fine during this time. Most of you Christians only want to exchange gifts and greed anyway. Me and my 1800 tequila take pity on you all for falling victim to capitalism's predation on these religious holidays you all celebrate. LOL. Save your pity, dear.
