A year-ish ago there was a massive power outage in dt long beach. We were without power for almost a week. Only the newer buildings built with backup generators had juice. During this time there were an outbreak of fires from people lighting candles and forgetting about them. The elderly had issues with medication that needed refrigeration going bad. People were stuck in elevators, in one instance for almost 20 hours.
It was a cluster fuck. Showed just how unprepared for a natural disaster the city of la is. We are absolutely fucked and on our own when the infrastructure goes down.
