depends what product.
Okay then...

food

bags

cars

clothes

wine

soda

beer

vodka

rhum

for me

food - when it comes to basic food, Italy. Food that takes effort to make, France.

bags - I have no idea. I order online.

cars - Germany or Japan/South Korea never let me down.

clothes - no idea. I order online or I go to outlets in Italy. But going with "Made In Italy" you're getting ripped off. They have the right style just not the right prices.

wine - truly no idea. I barely drink. I'll take anything that's offered.

soda - the best soda is Red Solo from Trinidad, bar none.

beer - Trinidad again.

vodka - I don't know much about vodka. Only ever enjoyed Russian Standard after it's frozen for hours.

Rum - not really allowed to say this allowed being half-Trini but I'm not a rum person in any way.

One of your parents is from Trinidad?

Interesting.

Yes. Otherwise, why would the product label says "Made in xxxx", right?

----

Some countries, when exporting products, hide behind the italian brand because it has a better image abroad, they assure sales that way harming their own country in the long run.

I can see that happening. So which countries are these?

Neighboring countries, mostly.
Hmmm but products from France and Spain are goooooood. They don't have to do that.

----

I'm afraid you are biased there. I don't think France does it, they have a strong presence abroad. I can't assure it, though. *everything depends on the product category*

So can you cite the countries' names specifically? Coz I see a lot from France and Spain. So far these countries sell good-quality products.

For example: olive oil - Tunisia, Spain, Greece and more I don't know, I've just read about Parmesan made in New Zealand, so go figure. Their products can be better but hiding they devalue them, and can also harm italian image.

wine - they say California or Spain. But I thought there's some from France.
For wine in my book is Spain, France and Italy.
How about meat?

Australia/Poland/England has very good reputation for beef, Spain for pork, France for duck, Scotland for lamb. England/ Norway for chicken if you buy organic.

According to a ranking, the best olive oil is Spanish, being the second from Italy, different brands. So you see is just marketing. Probably you value more spanish products because of your bloodline. Is all in the genes.

I'm not talking about me or my preferences. I'm talking about product labels. It's all there. Made in Spain. I wonder why...

Marketing. Filipinos might hold the Spanish brand in high regard, or they just don't care about hiding there.

I don't know. Many Filipinos have Spanish blood so they might be persuaded to buy even with little knowledge of the brand.

Italia has really good reputation for olive oil but they cannot produce enough so they buy from Spain.
