Looks like we have 2fer1 political pitch-a-fit fest this election, this morning. Not only gun control but hey, why not throw in
an nice anti-gay-bashing-with-a-gun message in the mix as well.

You just watch, that's where the discussion focus is going to go
You can count on CNN to have up to the minute play by play.

Lol @ America

Unbelievably embarrassing
I agree LOL @ America

Formerly home of the (Indian, well that's what one white man called us) braves and land of the they-think-they're-free (so long as you pay your taxes with funny money)
Now the land of not milk and honey but fruits and nuts. (sometimes vegetables. Depending on who you talk to)

"The shots did not sound like a regular handgun, it sounded like it was shooting

repetitively and it wouldn't stop," he said.

'... the Orlando Regional Medical Center was placed on lockdown, the hospital said

in a statement. Only essential workers are being allowed access into the building. '

Only 'essential workers' are being allowed into the building, due to caution?

Wtf are the victims radioactive?

And yeah, gun laws would have totally stopped this.

Just like they stopped all the violence in Europe.

That's sarcasm. ^

Like I said before, shootings do take place in Europe, however not in the insane numbers that occur in the US, I guess you're so used to them by now that they seem as normal as shopping for groceries. It wouldnt stop violence altogether, it wouldnt stop shootings, but if you change the laws in such a way that it becomes a lot more difficult for people with mental problems to having access to guns, then yes, it would DEFINITELY make a difference and the number of shootings would most likely decrease.

As citizens, I think the majority most definitely agrees with this. However, it's big business and the minority screams so loud.....big business uses them like cattle to thwart any change.

It's been confirmed the shooter had ties to radical Islam.

Tighter restrictions in this scenario wouldn't have made a difference.

During the Reagan administration, Federally funded state mental hospitals closed. This basically eliminated services for people struggling with mental illness. Many have correlated this decision to our- current predicament regarding mass shootings- along with our homeless population statistics.

To sum it up- Mental heath, in nearly all cases is paid for by the individual- or the family of the individual. Inpatient care is mostly a joke- and VERY expensive- like a few thousand a week. .

Stricter laws on guns, would just provide a band-aid effect to that situation. These type of horrific events would still happen- Maybe not in terms of scale (life loss) But frequency and consistency. would remain in tact.

@justagirl One could only assume they are being sarcastic, don't take it to heart and pay them any attention.

It's a really terrible situation. 😢

@skitty naw they have expressed their views before on that lifestyle. Everyone has their opinions and views, i just thinks it's fucked up to bascially say this shooting was a good thing, because the victims are gay.

life is life, regardless of sex, religion, if someone is american or whathave you.

I'm saddened for the lose of life, not for some randoms crass comment, i won't focus on the hatered, it's all over my facebook feed and within this thread.

This shooting has deeply upset me. Im a religious person to an extent and I happen to fall into the gay category.

Shooter was extremely religious, figured a lot of sin was going on in there and decided to go all out.

Its upsetting. Just like the san Bernardino and the sandy hook shooting, they all deeply upset me, it doesnt have to do with any of the motives behind the shooting just the fact that people DIED and were not able to say bye to friends or family is upsetting.

I will pray for all the innocent victims.
Lets not be politically correct and sidestep the fact that the shooter was a muslim who specifically targeted a gay bar (thus gay population) in this shooting. This is not just some numpty who randomly felt like shooting 50 people. This was someone who deliberately killed 50 people thinking he was doing justice to Allah in the process.

Go buy more guns, folks!

Hurry up before they are gone!

*eye roll*
alright, i get what you are saying.
but it's just not a good argument. if people see a danger, it's only natural for them to want to preserve their lives. if someone's coming at me with a knife, i want a bigger knife. if someone's coming at me with a gun, i want a bigger gun. it's normal.
I know people who stock pile guns and buy new ones every time this happens.....is that really necessary?

Realistically....they are really only lining the pockets of big business...the likeliness of any of those guns being fired in self defense is slim to none....I bet 99% of them will never be fired at all.

It's a big dick contest and the joke is on them.

It's stupid.

what big businesses are you talking about? if people were going nutso attacking innocent people offensively with firearms on a regular, i would probably know about it because i watch a lot of news. my sunday has been disturbed with this shit, i would normally be able to watch america's test kitchen, but this is all over the news. robberies happen, yes. that's true. murders, ok, it's depressing. i get it... but it's kind of like comparing apples and oranges.

I think it shows alot of strength, that you have chosen to focus more on the events at hand rather than certain peoples ridiculous ideologies.

@ElleDuMonde Most of which i posted was based largely on statistical evidence rather than personal bias. I can't predict what would or would not happen in regard to stricter gun laws. The only thing that can be said for certain- is that "stable" people do not commit these type of tragedies. Even in this case- having the ties he had. He was still born/raised in the states. One can only wonder how long he drifted to the type of mentality that lead up to the following events.

The ex-wife of the 29-year-old man suspected of killing 50 people

in a Orlando nightclub early Sunday said that he was violent and

mentally unstable and beat her repeatedly while they were married.

... is a very interesting part of the story-- isn't the shooter (lol... more like shooters) dead as a doornail?

What is the threat, at that point?

What are they hiding-- ?

You (speaking generally... not you, personally) cannot believe everything about the story, just because

you saw it on the telly.

I know a few actually. lol

It's actually fairly easy to fully automate weapons.

My father being one- and a friend from high school- they actually have a gun series they do on youtube.

It's a different type of mentality- One that i don't share, but certainly shouldn't be glossed over with a "they're all sick!" thought process.

Well of course it is. I was asked how many *I* knew. lol.

Full automation- while easy to accomplish is still illegal.

You would have to be significantly close to someone to know that sort of information.

amazing how people manage to blame everything on Obama.

you know how there's a Kevin Bacon Index for six degrees of separation in two humans being connected?

I'm sure conservatives believe in an Obama Index, where they can always somehow blame Obama for absolutely anything.

* mass shooting? Obama's fault
* Zika virus? Obama's fault
* bad hair day? Obama's fault

JFC, it hasn't even been 24 hours.
Guess peeps are jumping on the bandwagon -__-
So you're both saying it's impossible that his ex- wife was questioned

because it's been less than 24 hours?

So what's the protocol when investigating a crime scene?

When I saw this my head went straight to conversations between getmisted and rein.

Scorpios.
Moon in Taurus
Mars in Aqua

GM is very accepting and open with his sexuality.
Rein can't even be study buddies with a guy he found out was gay.

You smoosh those two together and you have this guy.

I wish I knew where his stellium was....maybe 9th house.

Imagine having that conflict in your psyche 24 hours a day.

No disrespect to either one, btw. It's just how my mind works.

I thought GM was Moon in LEO. 😕

Still... I hear you on the conflict.

Mars in Aqua acting for the Good of All in some sense?

Ninth house, for the stellium... sure-- wonder what's going

on with Neptune. *want to see a wheel*

His transits are more telling than his own chart
They are all oppositions and squares.

They make the transits more difficult.

Either way, we all have are own perspectives.

The Gemini/Sag axis got activated in his chart during the time of the shooting (Sun in Gemini opposite his Uranus in Sag). Gemini/axis deals with your surroundings (Gemini) vs foreign (or queer) or religious (=Sag). Add to that the current Uranus in Aries being at one degree of the current Sun in Gemini right now. Aries = he probably struck on his own, so Uranus got activated that way as well. Mars (ruler of Aries) is in Aquarius in his chart (ruled by Uranus) so you get that dichotomy playing up
