gun rights ...
I myself am not a gun owner, I grew up around them but I have never thought to have one. I understand that people want to have them and yes that is their right. But its obvious at least in the US, the shit the way it is NOT working. I asked that after the Vegas shooting. When is enough, enough.
I don't get involved much in the threads here about guns/crimes/politics mainly because it typically turns into a 'I'm right, your wrong" argument and rarely anything constructive comes from it.

The constitution was written during a time when weapons had zero capability to what they do today. it needs to be updated and go along with the weapons that have changed.

Nobody wants to die. Ppl panic easily.. quickly.

It was foolish for him to say he has a gun.
It was a traffic stop... The cop didn't need to know that at that time. All it it did was tighten his assistant cheeks and give him an ichy trigger finger.

I remember when that story came out last year or the year prior about Philando. Still breaks my heart til this day.
He told them he had a permit to carry and conceal. He verbalized it to the officer the whole time. Told them he was reaching for his license. As you are trained to do if you have a permit. Verbalize you have a permit to carry, and to announce it. As well as announcing they you are reaching for your ID, just as he did. But within a half second after he announces he will be getting his ID, the officer immediately opened fire on him, killing him.
This immediate fight or flight response is troublesome for someone who is suppose to protect and serve the community.

However, one late night coming home from work, these "club goers" of gang members shot at his car. He was very tempted to shoot back but he knew his gun would kill them all and he saw a women in the back seat. I cried. His sympathy or gentlemen ways could have cost him his life. He did call the police. They found the bullets in the store across the street.
Switzerland has more guns per person than the US does. Like, significantly more. Gun culture is STRONG over there.
And yet, when's the last time we've heard about a school shooting there...

#1 killer of teens is suicide. But school funding is being slashed every day. Adding another school counselor isn't gonna help and isn't in the budget.
IMO we need to beef up school security. Have trained professionals (NOT TEACHERS) on site to contain the situation that will, does, and WILL CONTINUE to arise.
Cause metal health access is a joke in this country and while its the most sustainable solution...I don't see it happening anytime soon for us. Not with the monkeys in charge of our countries funds atm.

I don't understand what you think giving up your guns are going to do?
People that want to have guns will still get guns and use them but only now you don't have a way to defend yourself.
