How do I force myself to like alcohol

Can You Train Yourself to Like Alcohol

Liking alcohol is often influenced by taste preferences and smell. Gradually trying milder drinks and avoiding strong fermented scents may help. Developing a palate takes time, and some people do change their preferences with repeated exposure and positive experiences.

I hate alcohol of any kind of alcohol be it beer, wine (expensive and cheap), cider, shots, cocktails, etc. I dont even like the sweetest of moscato

My biggest issue is the yeast fermented smell.

When I turned 21 I always saw myself going out for drinks and ordering wine with steak and seafood at restaurants and such. Is it something I can force myself to like. Like coffee?

My biggest issue is the fermented smell. smell affects my taste a lot.

Did any of you hate wine and started liking it later on? how did you do it?

what are some tips? what do you recommend ?

Vodka it’s the easiest because it doesn’t have much taste and it mixes very well with all kinds of juice or sodas.

But be careful!!! Sometimes you don’t realize how much alcohol is in it.

I think she wants to be a fancy gal, sipping wine at an formal dinner type of thing. We're setting her up with whiskey and vodka tolerance. Good job us.

Take a little sip of soda, swish it around, take a big chug of straight liquor, then another small sip of soda to wash it down. Thats how a true alcoholic makes mixed drinks.

😆

If she can drink whiskey or vodka she won’t have a problem behaving like a proper girl when she drinks wine at a fancy dinner.

I like your approach. From the other side....if she gets used to the worst, the little things won't be so problematic. 😄

I have a practical idea......in this thread Portuguese green wine was recommended. I suggest she trains

on absynthe so she gets used to the green liquor.

Why do you want to develop a taste for it?

My question as well 🤔

I love food and coffee and dark chocolate. When I hear people describe the taste of wine , it taste like something delicious with unique flavor.

I feel like im missing out on an interesting drink . Kinda like how I hate mushroom and now I love it and really appreciate flavor.

bonus point for looking classy and drinking wine with other mature adults when I attend events. but more the previous reason

Okay the first thing I got in was "keep a clear head" and when I opened my wisdom book I got "addiction" so you may wish to keep that in mind ?

I pulled some cards

Honour your true feelings

Visualisation

Detoxification

It seems that you need to become a little more real about something, more honest and open and with the last card it seems to be matching my channelled message and the wisodom book msg

It may be that now isn't the right time to make life changing decisions until you are clearer

Hope that helps you?

❤️

No, the clear head, detox and the rest was for you not anyone else .....

They only help if you take them on board

And you are welcome

Haha I love food, coffee and hate mushrooms as well. But I hate mushrooms coz of the texture than the taste.

You can't be missing out on something you do not enjoy. Coz fun is what we define for ourselves. But yeah , you can try if you want to.

As for looking classy, there many ways to look classy. Never thought drinking alcohol was one among them. Plus if you're actually drinking it to look classy wouldn't it seem like you're trying rather than actually being classy?

I'm surprised you don't even like cocktails because some of them don't taste like alcohol at all. You can't really force yourself to like something if you don't. I don't enjoy most alcohol but I do like cider, cocktails, champagne, and anything else that doesn't have a strong alcoholic taste to it.

You don’t have to like alcohol. My son is 22 & won’t drink it. Between not liking it & alcohol problems on his dad side. It’s a great choice!!!

Strong guy 👍

Our son is the same....no interest in it at all

My daughter maybe a little interest but not much. She reports to me how much dad is drinking now... umm I don’t ask lol. But between him & his parents it’s a bit concerning to a 17 year old. It’s not like I dont at all, but the kids know the difference & are not interested. That says a lot!

Yes it does

for example vodka tasteless? odorless?

I can taste and smell vodka, it taste and smell like acetone. When someone say this vodka is smooth Im like ... ITS NAIL POLISH. so in cocktails , no matter how sweetened or fruity or syrupy, I can smell and taste alcohol and because of that I can't enjoy it .

I love love love margarita , the virgin kind

I can't drink anything sparkling or bubbly... because I didn't grow up drinking soda so anything of that sort burns my throat.

I dont know , I guess I want to be a little reckless sometime, im not a risk taker, I've never tried drugs or ecstasy or anything people I know have. I dont know how to smoke hookah, weed , cigarette or anything of that sort . I dont do spontaneous or exciting thing. im a really controlled individual .

maybe on my stressful day a glass of wine would be nice. like how Olivia from scandal drinks it lol

so I guess thats the allure in alcohol to me. it's my chance of being a little wild. and since I dont see the point in consuming something I find disgusting , I was hoping maybe I could get myself to like it ..
