Lechon, arroz con gandules, & fried plantains. It was flame.
Um. Are you Filipino?
Even though that was Puerto Rican food, yes, I am Filipino 🙂.
Lechon is what made me ask hahahaha. The rest, yah, I dunno. The Spanish thing...

Whatever, I miss chicharon bulaklak with that puti vinegar and the fried chicken with the Jufran sauce LOL

I piss my mom off so much when I come to her house or we go to Filipino food. There's nothing for me to eat. Unless I want that bitter melon stuff hahaha

Shame and disgrace on our culture not eating meat!!

Ahhhhhhh ok ok...OMG chicharon bulaklak with the vinegar & sili is THE BEST! Jufran on EVERYTHING! I'll put that, Mang Tomas, and/or Maggi sauce on anything & everything when I have Filipino food.

Hahahaa oh God, I can't do bittermelon, it's such a strong slap in the mouth lol. I can't do that or liver.

Do you eat eggs, fish, or seafood? There's still some options 😉 (fresh lumpia with just the veggies, boneless bangus belly, mackerel, okoy, shrimp sinigang...).

I went to the PI in March and I just threw my diet out the window on that trip lol. The last time I went prior to this trip (2007), I was stuck in the provinces for a week and I eventually got sick of pork, and the only thing that had veggies was sisig.

All that just makes me smile. All the dip it sauces! Dipit. Deepeet!

Good suggestions! Oh, I do seafood every once in a while. I'm the laughing stock at the flip sum joint lol. Owner comes out to talk to my mom and he's shaking his head at me. Waiters crackin' jokes like "why are you here?" LOL

I'll tell you what I'm here for, okayyy

Never been over there. My sister was born there, though. All my family is in Cebu!

Hahahaha I just had cottonmouth just looking at that bowl of polvoron! Sooooo good, but sometimes I accidentally inhale it while I'm eating & end up w/ powdered milk in my lungs lol. WHITE. RABBIT. ALL. DAMN. DAY.

Fav. Filipino food for me is probably arroz caldo/lugaw/congee; it's just so comforting. I try not to eat rice (which never fails to make my family gasp) but I can't turn that down.

NIIIIIIIIIICE, my mother's side is kinda by Cebu (Iloilo, part of the Visayas) but most of them live in Metro Manila, father's side is from northeast Luzon in the mountains. The Philippines is always too much (the food is sweeter, saltier, more greasy and fatty, & more flavorful; the people are way too polite, the weather is super hot, the traffic is ridiculous) but that's what makes it so great.
