I trust your word more then most. Yet I'm still skeptical with most things. The more it's blown up over the media the less I believe it's fully accurate. I admit that could either be a horrible flaw within myself, or perhaps seeing a deeper meaning behind things.

As someone who is sexually active and involved with at least 1 bisexual male partner, I did see my circumstances as enough of a risk.

I do think this conversation with you would be different if I hadn’t gotten vaccinated and ended up contracting monkeypox. A very less happy conversation at that, as those blisters scar you for life and are super painful from what I’ve been told.

Personally I don't believe that as accurate. Though at the same time I understand people will believe what they want. There is nothing wrong with believing the severity is that intense, and actually thinking it could last for life. Though I don't believe that as fact or true. I can't say you are wrong though. I'm just some random person who knows nothing.

Also I heard many people claim you could get it without any type of sexual activity whatsoever. That you could contract it simply from being in the same room as someone else who has it. If something is that intense and severe, then it's a fact we would all get it. Simply because you will never get 100% of every human on the same page, no matter the situation. So why even care? No vaccine is going to fix humanity, or change ones fate. That's how I see it. Though you have the right to feel comfortable and safe from whatever means you see necessary. I will never see you as wrong or incorrect for that. Most people will consider you much more right then me, which is understandable. Yet it changes nothing, and the outcome will still be the same.

So I went to my doctor expecting she’d be down to prescribe me PReP since she had mentioned it back in January.

When I asked about it at the appointment she was like “that will require a bunch of other testing” (we had already set up to to a full panel STD and hepatitis screening, so she meant more tests in addition to those). The vibe she was giving me was kind of like she didn’t know the full procedures needing to be done before prescribing PReP, so I didn’t press her on the issue.

I’m still hopeful that by the time my STD results come in (Im estimating by Thursday) maybe she will have done research to figure out what else we need to do.

But idk she’s kind of skating on thin ice with me because her solution for my chronic tonsil inflammation was to stop sucking dick.

AND, she wouldn’t prescribe me a rescue inhaler (everytime I smoke [1-4 times a month] I have an asthma attack); instead she told me to just not smoke. As if I hadn’t already thought about that 🤦‍♀️

Wow thin ice for sure. When she suggests basically abstinence to you ask her for an alternative. And if she can't give an alternative perhaps then ask her to recommend an alternative doctor who could give you the answers you seek. Shop around anyways. Cause that's wack af.

I have a friend who wanted the 10 yr copper idu bc and her doc kept insisting that she needed to reconsider because what if a man in her future would want kids. Bro. First off she's a life long lesi. Secondly the wish for the bc was to regulate her horrific periods. Thirdly her wishes should take priority over a non existent man who may wish to utilize her uterus. You would think it was some old white dude, but nope. Her doctor is a woman in her 40s. Well I should say, was. Cause this prompted her to find a different physician who actually listened and cared about her wishes smh.

I'm sure you know more than me, but I think they monitor kidney (or was it liver) functions before and with Prep/Pep.

I have heard that. I’m just confused why my doctor didn’t do that right then and there yesterday. I even asked her how someone would know if they should take PReP or not and she said “well, I’d say if you’re in an open relationship and sleeping with the amount of people you are, that’s reason enough”.

Like okay, then run ALL the tests needed so we can get the ball rolling!! Like don’t just tell me I should be on it, I can get on DXP and have everyone here tell me that anyways 😂😂
