Is it possible? I'm going on vacation in 31 days and just noticed that I gained 9 lbs over the winter! I'm tall so it takes awhile before the weight creep up becomes obvious.

Any tips?

Yes it is possible to (healthily) lose 9 lbs in a month. It is generally recommended to not lose over 10 lbs in a month. Eating lean and exercising by doing both HIIT cardio and weightlifting will definitely do the trick. Since it seems you're not looking to gain muscle, I recommend weight exercises that are low in weight and high in repetitions. Unless you have a REAL reason to try to lose the 9 lbs in 30 days, I recommend focusing on lose 1-2 lbs a month (4-8lbs) instead.

I've been so busy these past 3 months with work that my exercise has been zero! I have a gym in my basement so I'm going to start back up today after work. Would you recommend the treadmill or elliptical for cardio? I do not want to gain muscle, I want to melt fat. I already have good muscle tone.

Diet wise, I don't eat much but have a binge problem when I'm stressed so my thing is getting that in check.

Very much possible . Infact 9 lbs / 4 kg a month is simplest to lose . Beyond that takes more effort. Just regular one hr a day work out and maintaining a healthy diet .

Cutting down alcohol really helps too .

Women can't really gain muscle like that in a month

I would say high weights and lower repetition would make you lose weight faster

Right, I'm recommending she do that so she can avoid gaining muscle weight.

Elliptical is easier on the knees due it being low impact, but I know people who swear by the treadmill. As long as you can adjust the intensity, either will work.

Also know stress binges unless you're eating green veggies. You can binge on those aaaaaall you want. Broccol, green beans, spinach, lettuce, celery, and the like will be your best friends for the next 30 days. That along with brown rice, chicken, fish, goat cheese, and olive oil (for when you're really missing butter).

Interval training

Google it. I'll never run on a machine without interval

I'm loving all these tips. Thank you! I'm starting right now! First work, then exercise. I drink protein shakes at work for breakfast and lunch plus black tea. It's all the crap after work that kills me.

You'll want to start meal prepping. It's so easy to eat poorly when there's nothing already prepared. Take a day to make all of the chicken/fish, rice, and veggies you'll need for the next 7 days.

Add lemon juice to your daily breakfest..and try a sea salt flush to eliminate waste out your colon( Main reasons why weight stays)

I weighed this morning and I'm down just under 5lbs. Obviously water weight but I'm ok with that.

I cut out carbs and did high protein/low cal with lots of water. I bought those sauna shorts and wore them on the treadmill for 30-45 minutes every day and did toning exercise before bed.

50 squats

50 calf raises

50 crunches

50 pelvic tilts

50 wall push-ups

50 triceps dips

So 4lbs to go in 23 days. I think I can handle that.

yeah I know you're not diabetic. I was just adding that. diabetics can easily lose 9 lbs in less than 30 days. but even healthy people like you can lose 9 lbs in less than 30 days. what's 9 lbs in 30 days. that shouldn't be hard unless you're a human garbage disposal that loves to eat a lot like myself. then I can see trying to lose 9 lbs in 30 days being hard.

A coworker had gastric bypass and she has been losing 30 lbs a month! It's insane. Plus, her lunch is a bag of cheetos. She is melting right before our eyes. Literally melting. Her face is sagging to her shoulders.

damn that sounds pretty ugly. and scary. was she fat before the surgery? I don't know why people would want gastric bypass surgery anyway. I know someone who died from that kind of surgery. *smh*.

She was overweight but i didn't think she that fat. She looked so much better before.

My cousin has been obese her entire life but over the past 2 years she has lost over 150lbs through diet and exercise. She still has some to lose but she looks so much healthier than the people that have the surgery.

Drink a gallon of water a day

Eat breafast early in the am, lunch and dinner. Light snacks like almonds in between.

Walk outside for a mile or two on a trail every afternoon.

Whoever said high weight low reps to lose weight is a idiot.

If you tall like you said and only need to lose 9 pounds you will be fine. It's all diet.

Drinks LOTS of water and get out there and MOVE! Do yoga - the stretching will help tone your body and you will mentally feel good about yourself. Cut out soda, animal products (meat and dairy), refined sugars and bread - eat more veggies and fruit. But most of all, don't worry about it. I'm tall, and even a bit of weight gain doesn't show, especially in clothes.

Enjoy your trip!

You can potentially lose 6 lbs overnight.

Granted, its all water weight.

Best practice is diet. Try to drink a gallon of water a day, it helps flush out waste.

Stick to proteins and complex carbohydrates, and keep your metabolism going by eating every four hours (not full meals). Breakfast, something *very* light at mid morning, lunch, *very* light at mid afternoon, and dinner.

Stay away from carbs in the evening.

A bag of Cheetos— Those things are loaded with MSG (monosodium glutamate)! She needs to realize that since the surgery, she doesn't have much of an appetite, so when she does, she MUST eat nourishing food!!!

It's like watching a car crash in slow motion. You want to look away but your brain is too riveted. Same thing almost happened with me & Sunny Side Up. Thankfully my disgust was stronger and I cut my viewing displeasure short.

You could lose 10 pounds in a few weeks. You just have to work hard. Like keep moving all day and eat small. Like eggs and toast with a small glass of milk for breakfast. Then just walk around all day. Eat some salad for lunch, and something normal for dinner. Just try not to eat anything fatty. Drink a bunch of water too. If not water then tea.

Personally I like to workout hungry then eat a salad. That way my body is using fat and liquid for energy then afterward the salad is amazing.

Didn't see this but you need to do KETO, which is Keto Genic Diet.

Basically, you eat healthy fats, then good protein and very little carbs (not wheat, pasta, rice or oats, but fiber veggies etc.)

By eating about 70% healthy fats (bacon, sausage, salmon, ham, peanut butter, avocado, almond butter, eggs, coconut milk, mct oil, organic cheese, almond milk, nuts, cream cheese etc.) you reduce your carb levels, which in turn, lowers your blood insulin levels.

Carbs break down into glucose, which is sugar. You have about two days of glycogen in your muscle mass, which is stored sugar. When you don't burn that or the carbs you are taking in, your body stores this sugar as fat. This cycle = Metabolic Syndrome.

The low fat diet that still includes grains is a complete BS! You don't lose weight by eating low fat (healthy fats) and still eat grains. Our bodies are not designed to metabolism grains. Gluten wreaks havoc on your gut, and most diseases stem from a leaky gut.

FAT doesn't make you fat. SUGAR makes you fat. This is why corporations have put HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) into EVERYTHING! MORE people are overweight, diabetic, pre diabetic, have no energy, feel like crap all the time, get sick a lot and have brain fog.

I've been on a Keto Diet for 1.5 month. I've lost 15 lbs of fat. The first week you lose a ton of water weight because carbs attach to H2O; when the carbs are reduced, the water has to leave the body.

My energy has gone way up. I feel better than I have in years. I don't have body aches or head aches anymore. I have zero issues with stomach upset, indigestion, heartburn etc. I sleep like a rock.

My goals aren't on the scale but in my clothes that I have hanging waiting for me when I get there.

I also workout 4 times a week. I do high intense cardio on an elliptical and rowing machine. Then I do free weights at a pace that keeps my heart rate up. I finish with core and stretching. My workout lasts about 1 hour to 1.5 hours depending upon if i incorporate something new or I'm limited on time. I used to workout before on Keto for over 2 hours and yet, didn't change my diet. I didn't lose a pound working out for longer. 70% of your weight loss and body composition comes from your diet, not from simply working out harder or longer.

I honestly had energy from day one of exercising. Not all people do when they go off carbs. So don't despair if the first day or two of training you are tired. It will pass. I drink whey protein with almond butter and coconut milk before and after my workouts. My muscle mass has increased as well.

The first week of Keto, I went through the Keto flu, which is like having the flu. You feel tired, achy have a horrible headache and do get hungry. Your body is transferring from high carbs to fat. It doesn't happen it overnight. But after two weeks, if you follow it as you should, it's gold! And you are NEVER hungry! I eat 1/8th of what I did prior to going Keto.

The only issues I've had are not getting enough electrolytes because I'm not a salt lover. So I take potassium and magnum supplements. If I don't, i often get leg cramps at night in my calves. I also drink water all day long! NO SODA!!

You can use stevia, but stay away from other artificial sweeteners and sugar. Once your body is in Keto, your cravings for sugar are almost nil. I don't crave sweet things like I used to. My coworkers are always stuffing their faces with donuts or cookies and drinking pop. I grab my handful of nuts and drink my water and I'm good.

Keto isn't something you should do for just one month. It will make you feel so good because you detox, that you will want to make it a life style change. Important to eat organic foods as much as possible. Toxins undermine your state of Ketosis.

I also drink Apple Cider Vinegar every am on empty stomach and before bed. ACV is amazing! It's an antibiotic, anti viral and anti fungal. It kills bad gut bacteria and alkalizes it. It also reduces your stomach size from day one of drinking it. You can't drink it out of the bottle, though. I mix with water, lemon juice and a few ice cubes. Takes like sour lemonade.

Coconut Oil is huge on Keto. Now eating coconut oil is hard because it needs to melt. So the best alternative is MCT Oil, which actually has more medium chain triglerides than coconut oil. I put MCT Oil into my protein shake in the am, add some almond butter and mix with coconut milk. Takes great and is pure energy!
