I want to travel - maybe go to Peru and do a huge party there! I have friends in Peru, Colombia, Argentina and Uruguay and thought it would be fun to all meet there!

Even some of my American friends have families there and it might be a "convenient trip"?!?

My European friends travel a lot and it might also be exciting for them.

I don't know... I keep thinking of this being a good idea. ?

My father's partner is Peruvian. She came to Canada in the 70s. She's visiting Peru now with her 103 year old mother.

Quite a mix of ages here. I'm in my 30s but still get asked for ID when buying booze in supermarkets and sometimes in bars. I like to kid myself that it is because I look so young.

Ditto! Sometimes it's a compliment and sometimes I'm like, "Dude, can I have my drink now?" 🍹 One day a girl asked her co-worker to come over, "Hey, come here! Check out her age!"

Omg... 103 yrs old!! Hmmm... I'm wondering if Peruvians (brought up in Peru) have longer life span due to the elevation & diet?!?!

Is the 103yr old lady still energetic? This reminds me of my friends grandfather... he was in his early 90's and he was seriously trying to court me ?. The family thought it was "cute" because he still had his mojo on... but I would literally run away from that man everytime I saw him. He was NOT cute to me! Uuuuggg... gross times...lol.

Anyway, point being - he behaved very young for his age ?

I think that's likely so about the benefits of the elevation and diet (nice to know that you're aware of the benefits of high altitude -- not many people are).

I'd say that she's fairly energetic considering her age. She has to walk with a walker or cane, but most people, if they reach their 100s, are in wheelchairs it seems. She is having some memory problems now, but that's fairly recent.

Wow, impressive that the man was so lively, but yuck for his judgement given that you showed clear signs of disinterest -- sounds like he was immature despite his grand old age.

I haven't been to Peru, but my dad's partner owns a nice inn in a good area in Lima so I'd have a place to stay if I ever visited. I agree about the food! Hopefully you'll be able to go!

I'm happy to say we have a cenntenial in my family. She is 103, still drinks and occassionally smokes. Great-grand aunt Lizzie. She was the single party girl with no kids.

Yes, people that are brought up in high altitudes usually have amazingly strong lungs. And as for the food, I have learned that Peruvians have the closest food pallette to their pre-historic ancestors (asians) as far as eating raw fish, rice as staple diet. Seems like this also really helps the life span ?

Yes, I can see that about their diet. Also, higher altitude = higher CO2 which is good for health in many ways, including lung health.

One we won't forget. I was not keen on my 30th. It scared the crap out of me. I felt like I'm 30 and could not stop thinking about all my accomplishments in life but also those I had not accomplished by 30. Does that make sense lol
