My OTHER theory is the person who killed No aka Freeze is a veteran. And used his power as a send off for shits and giggles to initiate the game but also lucked out on hitting the Mafia.

I voted UVD when I was following starwars' plan. Then the plan was off.So I voted Soul because anyone who hasn't posted much today is high on the list of suspects. It's always in the mafia's interest to post as little as possible on the first day.
I feel I've posted quite a lot today, taking into consideration I couldn't post till after work 5 hours ago.
Anyway I talk more when I'm mafia, so your point may not be valid.
Unless I'm a good townie role. Or a normal townie role trying to take the heat off the town. Or a big bad guy out to manipulate you.
I do believe mafia may hide, though sticking out and acting confused as much as possible is the best mafia strategy imo.
